Re: Test pilots body found in wreckage

I love both the movie and the book the right stuff. Scott Crossfield was a legend and a true man of honor, who was also a great american. He laid it all on the line, day after day, going up in that hurtling piece of machinery and chasing the demon that lived out there in the thin air. He was uncompromising in his pursuit of integrity and honor. Like the more famous chuck yeager, crossfield never bought into the hype of the astronaut program, preferring to maintain an even keel and remain out of the public spotlight, and yet making his own great contributions to the history of american aviation.

The world has lost one of its greatest pilots. What better way to die for a man like crossfield than behind the controls of the plane he loved.

Ramming speed to crossfield and his family.
