GC, I'll admit that the positive test coming after stage 17 raises legitimate questions, but again, it just makes zero sense. Landis would have to be an idiot to deliberately put testosterone in his body on a day he told everyone that he was going to attempt a bold, early breakaway.

I'm no expert on these tests, but they regularly give misleading results. Adding to the confusion is the fact that Landis has been taking thyroid medication as well as cortisone for his hip, both of which could have very well had an impact.

Hopefully the truth can be determined, but I have my doubts because even so-called "experts" often differ in their opinions on doping test results and what other issues can affect them. If this is determined to be true, I'll certainly be heartbroken because I have come to love watching the Tour the last several years and reveled in what Landis did.
