Turnovers come from pressure or from lousy execution by the other team. Better teams (ie the seattles, san diegos, carolina, and kc of the world) are a LOT less likely to screw up on their own without pressure than arizona, green bay and detroit, which explains their records. Thus, we need pass rush to cause pressure that will lead to turnovers.

But if you don't stop the run, a good pass rush isn't going to win you many games. Put eight in the box; make the young QB's like Huard, win the game for the other team, they will make mistakes. Once you establish solid run defense, you can pin your ears back and bring the kitchen sink.
