Book of SpiralHorns (Special Edition): "The Great Day of the Choosing"
Many times since the quest of the Legion fell short has the sun risen and drifted again to slumber below the horizen. The Spiralhorns, scattered about, begin to feel the genesis of an awakening that will soon bring them together again for new pursuits of glory.
The greatest stirring is felt within the pios Karl, protector of the spirit of the Legion. And not knowing the impetus for this stirring which seems misplaced in this day long preceding battles to come, Karl goes forth in search of AvengerRam, bard and seer of the Legions. And finding his compatriot, he calls forth "what news of the Spiralhorns? And what makes my spirit for battle stir in this time of calm?"
And AvengerRam spoke, and said "Behold, the day of the choosing is upon us. For with each season of nature's renewal must also come a renewal of the Legion's company of warriors. Such is how it has always been, and so it must be before the days of battle come again."
And Karl inquired: "Can you see what this day of choosing will bestow?"
AvengerRam replied "It is difficult, even for one such as myself, to gaze clearly into this day. But I see visions... visions of warriors fleet of foot, from the mountains to the East, and from the murky lands of the South. I see fearless warriors from West ready to stand against the charge of our enemies. I see leaders of garrisons near to the homeland, ready to take on whatever role the Legion requires. I see a day that will bring hope to the Spiralhorns... hope that the prize that eluded us will be ours."
And Karl felt joy upon hearing these words, and he called forth to Legion: "All Spiralhorns, in all lands far and near, rejoice in this day of the choosing. For the seeds of our glory shall be planted upon this day."
And so it shall be.
