Its Whiner Time

Don't even pretend you don't know what I'm referring to. This Sunday the rivalry continues. We all know the sad and painful facts.

I'm going to dig at the scars left behind by the dreaded Whiners for a minute or two. The hated Whiners swept our beloved Rams during the 2005 season. We had to wait until the 2006 season for the next bout. That bout has come and gone. We went into that war Sunday September 17th with confidence and revenge/payback on our minds. After all we had just rattled and defeated the highly ranked Denver Broncos. The battle at the Bay started out slow for our Rams as the 1st quarter ended with us behind 3-0. Fear not, we came out and totally dominated the 2nd quarter. With a ball control offense that saw us control the rock for 12 minutes and 27 seconds out of a possible 15 minutes. The frustrated Whiners could only muster 24 yards of offense in the quarter and we laid a 10 spot on them. So as we watched our proud and dominating Rams trot off the field leading 10-3, revenge looked like a lock. Our boys came out in the 2nd half flat and seemed uninspired. We were outplayed, outcoached and out scored to the tune of 17-3. Our hopes and dreams were crushed yet again. Whiners 20 Rams 13 lit up the final score on the scoreboard. No revenge, no payback......!!!!!!!!

Well, here we go again. The dreaded Whiners are next on our schedule. To make things even more nerve racking, they are coming in riding high on a very surprising 3 game win streak. While our Rams have been floundering, losers of 5 in a row! The time is NOW! Seems like the odds are against us but we do have an edge. The final round of this War of 2006 is being played at the friendly confines of the "DOME". I also beleive we are the better team. You know Scott Linehan told us that the Rams weren't ready to play in Carolina last Sunday. Is it possible the boys had this game on their minds? I for one certainly hope so. Even the Vegas odds makers are smelling something. They have us as a 6-point favorite against a team that is on a 3 game winning streak. We are on a 5 game losing streak. Playing at home. The whiners beat us in our 1st meeting. What's up with the 6 point spread? Maybe it doesn't mean anything.

Scott Linehan must know by now how heated this rivalry is. No excuses. The boys better be ready for battle. A win this Sunday would be huge. Not only would we get to taste some sweet revenge but also it keeps our playoff hopes alive.

Good luck to our Rams. Make us proud.
