It's a long, complex process. First, you must be nominated. Second, you must write a rather long essay as to why you think you would be a good mod, and send it to the 'inner circle'. (Attaching a money order for a hefty amount helps.) If you make it past this point, then the fun begins.

The next step is getting into the whiners locker room and swapping out their jock straps with Pampers, and making it out without getting caught. The next challenge is the "Survivor - Street Smarts" game. You get dropped off on the corner of Troost and 23rd streets in Kansas City, wearing only Rams gear. You have to make it all the way to the EJD without getting beat up.

Lastly....the few who survive put their names in a hat. Utter then draws one name from that hat.

This only happens once every three years, BTW.
