Re: RamView, 8/24/2007: Raiders 20, Rams 10 (Long)

I thought the write up was pretty accurate with respect to the state of season readiness for the Rams.

When the season starts and your starting lineups set with Jackson and Holt in there with Bruce - you should be able to run and pass the ball like you did last year. On the defense side you have some really good players.

I have a question - was it that the Rams played poorly or that the Raiders are not the same team from last year?

They have actually improved especially on the offensive side of the line. Most agree they have a top 3 defense and have improved on the front line with its run stoppers.

The offensive line has talent - poor coaching last year that has been replaced with very good coaching especially on the line. That was noticeable when the Rams pulled an all out blitz that was pretty much picked up long enough to allow Culpepper to drop of a check down pass to Curry for their 1st TD. Again in the 2nd qtr when your 1st team defense was still out on the field a 43 yard screen pass that had O-Lineman down field blocking. Their 1 st line has given up only 2 sacks so far both came Friday night against the Rams

Friday night was a good test for your team and Oakland as well. Each team saw what it was doing right and what it still needs to work on to get ready for opening day.

Good Luck to you guys this year. I would rather see you take your division than the Seahawks.
