Divide 35 penalties by two years and we end up with an average of 17.5 penalties a year. Compare that to this year, where he only has 8 through 9 games. That is a huge improvement in my eyes. Could he do more to cut down on his false starts? Most definately. But we also need to give him some credit for being able to work at cutting down his penalties. Ontop of that he's been playing on a injury ravaged O-line, and he still manages to cut down his numbers. In my eyes he has made leaps and bounds so far, and can hopefully continue with his progress.
We've only played 8 games so far this year - so that puts Barron on pace for 16 penalties this year. Not much lower than the 17.5 average you talk about. Far from a huge improvement as I see it. He's basically just as bad in penalties as he's always been.

Btw. very interesting read, that's the first time I've seen such statistics compiled over several seasons, really shows you just how bad Barron has been in the penalties department.
