Hey Rog,
First let me congratulate you on winning the grueling voting process you went through to become the Commissioner of the NFL. Most NFL fans aren't aware that you needed a minimum of 22 votes from the owners to win the position. The stress attached to 5 rounds of voting to finally win 23-8 with the RAIDERS the only team that abstained from the voting must have been torture. Again, Congratulations!
Many fans are unaware of your extensive role in league expansion, realignment, and stadium development, including the launch of the NFL Network and securing new television agreements as well as the latest collective bargaining agreement with the NFL Players Association. I've read and heard that you're looking into the possibilty of expansion outside of the U.S. also. You have instituted the new NFL Personal Conduct Policy (April 2007).
It's quite obvious that you are a very busy man. I can only hope that you can find the time to take a serious look at an idea I have to help improve our beloved game of football and the National Football League.
It seems like just about every angle has been addressed when the issue of the "length of the game" is concerned. We all know the game clock is 60 minutes but the games take upwards of three hours to play. As it stands now the game is split up into four 15 minute quarters. (I can't count how many times my wife has asked is that game ever going to be over?) That's the 1 o'clock game she's referring to. (I often wonder if you can imagine or even care what we fans are up against.) You should see the wife's face when I tell her there is a 4 o'clock and 8 o'clock game today also.
Anyway, what I'm proposing is two 15 minute halves. Ties are ties no overtime.
Think about it.......You could save alot of marriages, spousal arguments and there would be alot less injuries to the NFL players. I mean because of the NFL Network teams are now playing on Thursdays. My gosh these guys haven't even had a chance to recover from the 60 minute marathon they just endured the previous Sunday.
Also during your consideration of my proposal please make the new rules retroactive to week 1 of the 2007 season.
Sincerely
Laram0

What Roger doesn't realize is that the "New Rules" I'm looking for being retroactive put us in the playoff hunt.
Under the New Rules our 2007 season would look like this:
Week 1
Panthers-7
RAMS-17
Week 2
Whiners-7
RAMS-13
Week 3
RAMS-0
Bucs-3
Week 4
RAMS-7
Cowboys-14
Week 5
Cardinals-14
RAMS-10
Week 6
RAMS-0
Ravens-13
Week 7
RAMS-3
Seahawks-10
Week 8
Browns-17
RAMS-17
Week 9
BYE
Week 10
RAMS-17
Saints-7
Week 11
RAMS-10
Whiners-3
Week 12
Seahawks-7
Rams-19
Week 13
Falcons-0
RAMS-21
With the Commissioner eliminating the 2nd halves of all the NFL games we will have a record of (6-5-1). Thus taking most of the heat off of
Scott Linehan. The New Rules would be killing two birds with one stone. Our Rams would have a winning record and Linehan wouldn't have to explain the 2nd half flops that we've seen this season.
SLAP
