Re: Tyler Hansbrough Update

Tyler writes a quick journal for the Daily American Republic, the local paper in Poplar Bluff. Here's his latest journal.

I'm on the road again this week at the AAU Super Showcase at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla. We just finished pool play and are 3-0 going into Saturday night's tournament.

I spent Monday and Tuesday working out in Poplar Bluff. We flew to Orlando on Wednesday, registered Thursday and began playing Friday. We started the tournament by beating the Tennessee Travelers, then won against a team from New Jersey that had a pair of 7-footers. Just an hour ago, we beat an Illinois team.

Our team is playing better and with more intensity compared to last week.

Among my St. Louis Eagles teammates are Alex Tyus from Hazelwood Central and Ashton Farmer from Charleston. I've enjoyed playing with them. It's been fun getting to know people you play against during the high school season. Personally, I'm trying to work on my outside skills and playing the perimeter. I've really concentrated on rebounding and defense.

I've decided not to set a timetable for my decision. I want to relax and take my time with it, and get a better feel for the colleges. I'm still talking to the coaches, but I'm going to take my time with it.

I'll be back home most of next week until we leave for another AAU tournament Thursday or Friday in Kansas City.

Until next time,

Tyler
