I've had a change of mind and have decided to run a (preferably) 12-team cash-prize fantasy football league in 2008. I'll leave it up to any other members to run their own respective leagues.
ClanRam has grown a lot in the past few years and there are many more members involved in fantasy football. That considered, I see no need for a free "official"
ClanRam league anymore, unless someone else wants to organize one, or if we could work out some sort of inter-league championship for the fun of it.
Here are my early thoughts on the 2008 FF $$$ League:
- Hardcore players only!
- It will probably be a purchased league at FanBall.com - paid for by your commissioner, Evil Disco Man.
- $20 entry fee = $240 total for 12 teams
Cash prizes:
- $150 for the champ
- $50 goes to 2nd place
- $20 goes to 3rd place
- $20 goes to the team with the "high score" of the year
This should keep things competitive down to the final weeks of the season. The rules, rosters and scoring system will be kept basic & simple (it's much easier to avoid scoring errors that way, and ties are easily eliminated with a decimal point system). There will be a 4-team playoff in Week 14, and the championship game will be spread out over Weeks 15 & 16 to combine for the final score.
If you are interested in joining, PM me and I'll take your name down. Obviously nothing will get started up until summertime, so there's no rush. Just wanted to give everyone an early heads up.
