When the Rams were at McComb they met with the Colts at U of I. Why not continue something like that? If the Rams could also scrimmage with Tennessee at a central location like SIU. I don't see scrimmages as all that important. Ground breaking idea but what about if the Rams just played a few starters in their pre-season games to get them ready?
