Out of the center, guard and tackle position, I think the guard position would be the easiest to learn. Not that it's "easy" but "easier". I think it would benefit Barron not to be out on an island, dealing with pass rushing specialists. If nothing else, it's worth exploring. Since we all know he's going to have his struggles at tackle, seeing if he can play guard seems like something that should be tried.

If he has motivational issues, struggling at tackle might be compounding the problem. If you're not succeeding or excelling at something when you weren't motivated to do it in the first place...
