And here's the heart of the issue. They're, from where I sit, about equal needs. I mean, you look at it this way. We need insurance incase Pace or Barron gets hurt this season, and we need a player to come in and be a starter for us well into the future. But by that same token,
Leonard Little is bordering on retirement, and we need someone to come in and make an impact as a pass rusher. If anything, I give more weighting to the defensive end position as James Hall was very luckluster last season, and is far from a sure starting commoditidy heading into next year. Barron is probably a better bet from that standpoint.
Either way, we're going to need to come away from this draft with at least two long-term starters (No Pun Intended), who both have the capablilty to come in and make an impact right away if needed. Then you throw Widre Reciever into the mix. Personally, I think that if Jake Long is the pick in the first, a DE becomes next top priority. However, if DE is the first pick, I think operating from a BPA standpoint (pooling only from the WR and OT positions) is the better way to go. If the FO is convinced they can find better value in a WR in round 3 than they can in an O-Lineman, then OL should be the route that they pursue. Again, if less WR's/OT's fall than we think will, then that probably indicates better depth later on.
