Every now and then some of my blue-blooded friends tease me for spending so much time and passion on sports. They say sports are games played by overpaid arrogant guys. I nod my head and say it is one of the few places where the rules are clear, performance is evident, teams win because they play the best not because they know someone, and you never know the outcome before the game starts - no matter how overmatched a game looks. Plus it provides a stage where we see people overcome tremendous odds because of their dedication; focus; belief in themselves; hardwork; and never giving up. It gives all of us hope, and reminds us how good we can be if we put our minds to it. Sam Mills was one of those reminders.
