Kennedy's addition is, admittedly, based largely upon speculation. I saw a spark in him at the end of last season that I believe could be indicative of an emerging player. Couple that with the fact that, as you suggested, the DTs in the NFC West are not, for the most part, world-beaters, and I think its a good pick.
