The defense was just not good enough to stop the Pats from moving down the field and kicking the winning FG.

Oh how I hate this one. Just like when people say that the Raiders should have stopped the Patriots after the fumble reversal. It's hard enough to stop a team once in a series so why the hell should a unit be thought of as not good enough because they didn't stop a team twice in a series. The Rams Defense did stop the Patriots on that drive one time for sure and arguably twice on that drive. The raiders did stop the Patriots on that drive yet they are chastised for not doing it twice. Can you imagine the emotional swing that reversal caused in both the Raiders and the Patriots? One could say that was a huge reason the Patriots ended up winning that game. If you give an offense enough free unearned plays eventually they are going to move the ball. Eventually they are going to find a soft spot in your defense. GOOD JOB YOU CAUSED THE QUARTERBACK TO THROW THE FOOTBALL AWAY AND THE INTENTIONAL GROUNDING FLAG WILL BE COMING OUT ANY SECOND NOW. IT WILL BE COMING OUT ANY SECOND NOW. WHAT THEY DIDN'T CALL IT? GO OUT THERE AND STOP THEM AGAIN! or GREAT JOB YOU CREATED A TURNOVER WHEN WE NEEDED IT MOST. THEY ARE LOOKING AT IT AGAIN HOWEVER THERE IS NO CHANCE THAT WILL BE OVER TURNED I CAN SEE IT FROM HERE. GREAT JOB DEFENSE. Oh wait they are going to over turn it. GO OUT THERE AND STOP THEM AGAIN. Bullshat the Rams and the Raiders both stopped the patriots on the final drives and under the new version of NFL rules you must stop the Patriots offense twice on the final drive because they need the points to advance or win.
