Insightful observation, A2. I must admit that I had never even thought about of before, even though we have had our share of natural disasters in the last few years, Katrina certainly appearing to be the worst. I guess my attitude has always been that we'll take care of of our problems. But hey, like you said, where's the offer for help from the international community when we need it? We are always the first to offer help to others, and even to those who are considered "enemies". Now, in our time of suffering and need, silence from around the world.
Sad and pathetic...
