Welker this is a fanastic post and should be required reading for anyone that really wants to consider themselves an expert on the nfl. Like it or dont like it, these rules have a material impact on what is prudent for the teams to do, which players to sign, for how much and for how long. The rules may change, but as long as they exist, they are critical to any understanding of the relative value of talent and the allocation of cap dollars.
