Very nice, Atlas...
"...Hear-Hear!" Atlas, that was
True, why be overly concerned about the amount of 'traffic' in this site if the quality of posting would be misrepresentitive or, at best, mediocre?
It is the quantity Vs. quality factor which determines the success and prestige of a great sports site, i.e., of an NFL-caliber team such as ours, the St. Louis Rams -- thus the ClanRam...
As you put it, we are fortunate to have and to be a part of this classy Clan. Thanks Dez. GO RAMS!!!

An Excellent Example on "How Not to Build An MB!"
RN2 Ravens Message Board
A very good example of the difference between RamDez and the the rest of the people who call themselves Mods."I firmly believe that any man's finest hour, the greatest fulfillment of all that he holds dear, is that moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle... victorious."

good counterpoint, Atlas
Good counterpoint to my traffic comment, Atlas.
This is a great site with good articles in other sections, too.

An idea just hit me. I'm sure someone has thought of this before.
Does anyone feel that "Poster Ratings" would be a good idea? I have seen this used on many a forum. Being that this one has many intelligent and long term posters, it could be an interesting way of expressing our appreciation to one another through the ratings. It's also a way of rating the bad posters so new members will know who to take serious.
Anyone have thoughts about this? An option could be added to each user's profile so they could turn off the Ratings if they didn't want to be involved. Of course, they would not be allowed to rate others.Last edited by Atlas; -12-08-2001 at 12:42 PM.

that's a good idea atlas, but we would have to someway manage it so those "not to be taken seriously" don't ruin the poster ratings of others out of spite or rivalry...definitely a good idea

How about the more posts a member has made the more weight their vote holds. The newer members wouldn't give as much of an increase in rating as a veteran member. That way, the vets could counter balance any mistreatment of the program.

I looked under the change options menu, but could not find anything on the Ratings. Is there something I'm missing?

To shy away or not to shy away...
Atlas, near the bottom right corner of the page --such as this one, there's a "Rate This Thread" drop menu. There, Dez allows one to select from several ratings using stars.
I also think that what you're suggesting is a good idea ..."but" most of us probably shy away from specifically tagging the posts as good, lousy, excellent, etc. I suppose that would have to be left to the moderators to determine.
Enjoy your weekend, take care.Last edited by RealRam; -12-08-2001 at 05:42 PM.
