The Book of Spiral Horns A Prophesy of Ram Glory

The Book of Spiral Horns A Prophesy of Ram Glory

In the Golden Age of Spiral Horns, an Avenger was born. His name was AvengerRam.

And he spoke to the legions of SpiralHorns and stated:

Behold. The Rams will face many challenges in the time to come.

From across the water a band of pirates garbed in crimson and black will attack . But alas, in the end, their efforts will be for naught.

From the South a team of will come to battle the legions. The battles will be long and hard fought, but in the end a the higher power will be revealed.

And so the legions of SpiralHorn will march on. The marauders from the bay by the great sea, the horsesmen from the high country and from the East, the emerald raptors, and leviathans from from the city that touches the sky and the great river, each will battle the legions. Each will find only the bitter ashes of defeat.

And so, in the end, the legions will face the supreme foe. The dark birds of the night, with their monstrous fortress-like battle lines, will be the only barrier between the legion and its ultimate glory. But, fear not, gentle readers, like all others, the dark birds' fate is sealed at the hands of the legions

And in the end, AvengerRam foretold, the legions of SpiralHorns will rejoice.

So it is written. So it shall be done.

Book of SpiralHorns, Chapter I: Onslaught of Raptors

Book of SpiralHorns, Chapter I: Onslaught of Raptors

And the legions did travel Eastward, ever primed to face their destiny on the battleground of Veterans. With fear and loathing did they perceive the task of doing battle with the might of Sir Donavan, the leader of the Raptor forces and a force with limits and abilities not yet seen.

But, forth came AvengerRam, and spoke these words. "There is a prophecy, told by those who see more than most, of a great battle with Raptors. On that battleground, a past weakness that which was questioned, will be answered throughout the land; he who must be protected, will be triumphant; and he who is feared most, will be contained. And forth from battle will the Legions emerge, worn but victorious."

Book of SpiralHorns, Chapter 2: Delphinis and the Homefront

Book of SpiralHorns, Chapter 2: Delphinis and the Homefront

Emerging from battles won, the Legions of SpiralHorns returned to the homefront. Glory was upon the Legions after triumphs in battles with the Raptors from the East, and the Scarlet Miners of the West. Not unscathed, but undefeated.

But alas, the forces of Delphinis loomed upon the minds of the Legions. Forces that had proven their worth in a titanic battle with an old foe of the SpiralHorns, and thwarting the raid of the silver and black in their homeland.

Then came forth AvengerRam, and spoke this prophesy: "Behold, the forces of Delphinis are strong, but in this place, on this ground, and with the hearts and souls of Legions past and present behind us, the SpiralHorns shall prevail. With the fury of lightning itself, the Delphinis shall see that they face a force like no other."

    And so it shall be.

Book of SpiralHorns, Chapter 3: Pride and the Lions

Book of SpiralHorns, Chapter 3: Pride and the Lions

The routing of the Delphinis complete, the Legion of SpiralHorns once again leaves the homeland and prepares for conquest. Their sights set upon the den of lions in the great silver forum of the North, the Legions march forward.

The mood is of high spirit, and the foe trembles at the approach of the Legions, but amid the reveling, a voice spoke out. The voice of AvengerRam.

"Beware of pride and the lions. Do not forget that in the days of the Legions greatest triumph, it was the silver forum and the den of the lions where a grevious defeat was realized. Pride is to be taken in the actions of today and tomorrow. Pride based only on what has passed can be a trap."

And heeding the words of the AvengerRam, the Legions marched forward. And taking pride in their actions of the here and now, triumph was once again theirs. So it shall be.

Book of SpiralHorns, Chapter 4: Giant Task

And so the Legions marched home, once again victorious. The talk throughout the land rang out and the question was repeatedly uttered: could anyone stop the Legions.

This talk had been heard before. In the days of great glory, the Legions were perceived as lacking a peer. But dark days followed.

And in those dark days, the Giants of the Northeast, clad in garb of the colors of the day and night sky, came forth and usurped the prize that was to be possessed by the Legions, only to fall themselves to an even darker force.

Now, with the glory lost returning once again, the Legions and the Giants shall meet. And AvengerRam spoke and said that it will be here, in the homeland, that the glory abandoned by the Legions and purloined by the Giants, shall be reclaimed. With speed, with passion and with certaintly, this task will be fulfilled.

    And so it shall be.

Book of SpiralHorns, Chapter 5: A Fallen Warrior and a Chance to Fly

Book of SpiralHorns, Chapter 5: A Fallen Warrior and a Chance to Fly

A dark day has ended. And though the Legions emerged victorious, the price was great. A warrior has fallen. And while hopes emerge of his return, for now the Legions must march forth without he who has lead them so many times before into battle.

To the Northeast a battlefield awaits. And there an enigmatic foe will come forward. Clad in Emerald garb this foe will look to the teachings of the Legion's near-defeat, and attack with ferocity and anticipation of an overthrow.

Into this fray a young warrior arises. And AvengerRam spoke and said, "behold, a day has arrived for the Legions that we have at once feared and expected. A new weapon will be wielded, and those who battle the SpiralHorns will now realize that a true Legion is comprised of many warriors. And though the battle will be arduous and long, in the end the Emerald Warriors will fall, and the Legions will march on."

    And so it shall be.

Book of SpiralHorns, Chapter 6: A Nemesis Returns

Book of SpiralHorns, Chapter 6: A Nemesis Returns

One warrior down, another shines. The Legions are triumphant once more.

And to the homefront they return, where, waiting to engage the Legions is a true nemesis. The Black and Gold Paladins from the marshlands of the South stand poised for battle.

Since their last confrontation with the Legion, this nemesis has seen glory, but also confronted defeat. Their leader is strong, but remains uncertain, and their oldest warrior has suffered the wounds of battle.

Then came forth AvengerRam, who spoke thus: "Behold, they day of revenge is near. Through the power of old and new, they day shall be ours. Indeed, the Paladins, though longing to be praised, will be buried."

    And so it shall be.

Book of SpiralHorns, Chapter 7: A Battle is Lost, a Time to Rest

Book of SpiralHorns, Chapter 7: A Battle is Lost, a Time to Rest

The Paladins have triumphed in battle with the Legions. The Legions must face the dismal truth of self defeat, and the knowledge that dominion, though within their reach, has evaded their grasp.

AvengerRam then spoke thus: "Rest well, my friends. Thought the battle has been lost, the war continues. Forget for now what has past, as the battle of memory shall never be won. More tasks await, and the Paladins will once again be the vanguard of the Legion's gauntlet. This is as it should be, as only true victory will come when all challenges have been met.

Rest for now. Heal wounds of body, of mind and of spirit. The war continues."

    And so it shall be.

The Book of SpiralHorns, Chapter 8: Destiny of Revenge

The Book of SpiralHorns, Chapter 8: Destiny of Revenge

In their time of rest, the Legion of SpiralHorns told their tales. Of the clergy's daily repast, of the madness of a Paladin warrior, and of the code by which the Legion lives.

And questions were asked. With the battle now calmed, the bold question arose: "if indeed this is a Golden Age of SpiralHorns, why must their be an Avenger?"

AvengerRam spoke and told this tale:

"True, this is an age of gold, but the path is not always paved as such. For on our road to glory, many challenges lie. And in a time not long past, the Legions did fall against the stealth attacks of the warlords of Felis Concolor, the wildcats of the East. And to ensure that this remains an age of gold, revenge must be wrought. And to lead the Legions in this task, and Avenger was needed, and thus was born."

Heeding these words, and fulfilling their destiny foretold by AvengerRam, the Legions went forth and crushed their foe, ensuring that this part of their path remained untarnished and golden.

    And so its shall be.

Book of SpiralHorns, Chapter 9: The Northern Militia

Book of SpiralHorns, Chapter 9: The Northern Militia

Defeats from the past now avenged, the Legions march forward to an unfamiliar land. In the extreme of North, a Militia awaits. Though regarded as limited, this Militia has battled and defeated many foes with a spirit that exceeds their power.

AvengerRam spoke of this upcoming test, and said: "Behold, a battle will both raise and answer questions of leadership. The Legions will see a leader who, though wounded in battle, can still answer the call of duty and advance the charge of SpiralHorns towards their destiny. The opposing Militia will question their faith in a leader of old, and find their answer in the fire of young. And the battle shall be great on a windswept field of the North. Indeed, this battle will be of a character not often seen in the trials of the Legions. But in the end, victory shall once again be ours, as our dominion grows."

With these words the Legions marched forth. And their battle with the Militia and its allies of wind and cold ended in triumph.

    And so it shall be.

Book of SpiralHorns, Chapter 10: The Primal Pirate Battle

Book of SpiralHorns, Chapter 10: The Primal Pirate Battle

Victorious once more, the Legions return home. The casualties, though, are numerous, raising questions and doubts. And though the minds of the Legions often diverge, a common query is raised: will the Legion's path to the destination of glory be blocked by the limitations of mortal men, or merely altered?
Whatever the answer will be, it will be revealed through continued struggle, as rest will not come for some time. So back to the homefront the Legions travel.

There, an old foe will await. For accross the waters of the gulf and Northward along the great river the Crimson clad Pirates travel to battle the Legions. And while their pride has not fully wained, the Pirates have tasted defeat in their travels. Thus, like the Legions, the Pirates face a question of self: have they been vanquished entirely, or does their spirit remain stong and capable of fostering triumph?

And to these questions, AvengerRam spoke: "Behold, under cover of night and with all eyes upon them, the Legions meet the challenge of a rival. Primal motives both; one of the wounded beast, one of the cornered. But in the end the Pirates will fall, ending a threat, a rivalry and the dreams of Crimson glory."

    And so it shall be.

Book of SpiralHorns, Chapter 11 - Casualties of War; Birds of Prey

Book of SpiralHorns, Chapter 11 - Casualties of War; Birds of Prey

In a flash of crimson, a battle is lost. And on the fields of the homefront the casualties continue to mount. The wounds of body must be given time to heal, and young warriors must answer the call until time grants such relief. But what of the wounds of spirit? As self-doubt gains a foothold there, a parasitic entity erodes at the very heart of the Legions.

Such adversity may only be overcome through continued battle, so onward to the South and to the East the Legions march. There, birds of prey wait for their chance to take advantage of a Legion diminished by casualties, and to add more.

It is at this time that the words of AvengerRam are most needed. Though his prophesies are not greater than the will of man and fate, he nonetheless speaks from visions of clarity and truth. Indeed, AvengerRam embodies, and speaks for, the very spirit of the SpiralHorns, as he cries out:

"My friends, the war continues. Within each member of the Legions is the power to excel, the power to succeed. Put aside the brash boasts of the past. Now is the time for precision, for fury and for action. Though we face birds of prey, we shall not be the hunted. The Legions path to glory still lies before us."

And the Legions rallied and marched forth, returning to triumph.

    And so it shall be.

Book of SpiralHorns, Chapter 12: Return of the Scarlet Miners

Book of SpiralHorns, Chapter 12: Return of the Scarlet Miners

Another battle won, the Legions return to the homefront.

AvengerRam addressed the SpiralHorns, and said: "It was always destined to come to this. Many have been the foes of the Legions during the many ages in which we have toiled. Behemoths from the great city of the East and from the nearby lands of the South have tested us. Emerald Raptors, Horned Seamen, and Native Warriors have tasked us. Pirates from accross the waters and Paladins from the swamplands of the South have fought, and sometimes wounded, us. But over the many years, during ages Golden and dark, ages of promise and despair, the Scarlett Miners have always been there. They have been there to battle us, to block our path to glory and to pave it, to perputuate our despair and to launch us towards glory."

"And thus, today... today it is again the Scarlet Miners who stand in our path. Though their warriors of old have departed, new champions of the Baylands have arisen to challenge us. We have defeated them many times before, and must do so again. We are their nemises as well. We can match them blow for blow, and return two in kind. This shall be our day, and this day shall resonate into tomorrow."

And so the Legions returned to the homefront, met the challenge of the Scarlet clad Miners, and took a great step toward their ultimate goal of glory.

    And so it shall be.

Book of SpiralHorns, Chapter 13: Who Rules The West?

Book of SpiralHorns, Chapter 13: Who Rules The West?

In the defeat of the Miners, the Legions find the key to the ultimate path toward glory close at hand. The Western kingdom has nearly fallen, but there is no time to rejoice.

A dark cloud looms on the horizon. Clad in obsidian and the hue of ingots, the Paladins are once again poised to battle the Legion. And though the scars of battles lost render the Paladins less than a rival for sovereignty, they remain a fierce nemesis.

AvengerRam has once before prophesized the defeat of the Paladins, but his foresight proved mistaken. And so a faction of the SpiralHorns, though openly bold, questioned whether the date of vengeance was finally imminent.

To this unspoken inquiry, AvengerRam responded: "Look not at the bold prophesies of the seers of the Legions. For even I cannot always see past the cloak of time. Instead, look to the warriors of the Legions to bring about the glory long due. As a seer of sorts, I can tell this much. It is well within the power of the Legion to match the ferocity of the Paladin warriors, as well as their skill. So go forth, and do what must be done."

And with this, the Legions marched forth. And in front of the eyes of the world a mighty battle ensued. The Legions struck first, marshalling ground forces to strike the heart of the Paladin battlements. And when the counterattack seemed to gain momentum, through the air the Legions struck again, clinching the battle and sealing the fate of the Paladins.

And in the end, the Western Kingdom did fall to the Legions, who continued their journey to the ultimate prize.

    And so it shall be.

Book of SpiralHorns, Chapter 14: The Task at Hand

Book of SpiralHorns, Chapter 14: The Task at Hand

There is much rejoicing among the Legions. The Paladins have fallen. The taste of vengeance sweetens the road ahead.

But many tasks remain. The Western Kingdom has not yet fallen, the homefront not yet secured. The SpiralHorns must continue to battle in their march toward the ultimate prize.

And so AvengerRam addressed the Legions once more, and said: "True glory can only come with timeless victories. Such a victory has not yet been achieved. True glory can only come at the end of a road. That end is not yet reached. So go forward, Legions, resume the journey, continue the battle, achieve your destiny."

With that, the Legions went forth and destroyed their foe, the wildcat warriors once before defeated on this path. And in doing so the Western Kingdom did fall, and the homefront was nearly secured. The path continues for the SpiralHorns. Glory, though not at hand, through each task, draw nearer.

    And so it shall be.

Book of SpiralHorns, Chapter 15: The Homefront

Book of SpiralHorns, Chapter 15: The Homefront

A hard fought victory accomplished, the Legions return once more to the homefront. Much has been completed, though the ultimate goal is still far from realized.

Now is the time to embrace the homefront. With continued fortitude and valor, the SpiralHorns can ensure that the locale of all future battles in their quest, save one, shall be in their own land. Away from the harsh cold that descends upon the battlefields of the Legion's rivals to the North, the SpiralHorns can win passage to the final battlefield in their own homeland.

But this goal will not be easily achieved. Laying siege upon the homeland of the Legion are the thundering hoofs of the cobalt horsemen from nearby lands. And though this battalion has seen defeat in their journeys, they are nonetheless dangerous.

But AvengerRam sees the demise of the equine foe, and proclaims: "Behold. The homeland will once again become what it once was. A place where none dare to attack without trepidation, where none leave without the despair of misguided hope. The Legions will show their strength, and the horsemen will have no defense."

And so the battle was waged. And AvengerRam's proclamation proved true, as the Legions were victorious once more. One more step on the path to glory.

    And so it shall be.
