Well, I think it was Linehan's lack of support for Bulger's comments last season that started the relationship between the two on a downward spiral.

Wow, that is... quite an interesting theory.

Rams quarterback Marc Bulger said he doesn't see the team quitting on Linehan.

"I won't allow it to happen, Isaac (Bruce) won't allow it to happen, Torry (Holt) won't allow it to happen," Bulger said. "I don't think that will be an issue. We have faith in him. He's working as hard as he can. We're not making plays for him. We're just not playing good right now. I don't think it's a lack of effort. It's just bad football."
If Bulger was just playing nice or giving lip service, then I doubt he draws Torry's and Isaac's names into this by saying they won't let it happen either. He's kind of putting them on the spot by mentioning them, something I don't think he does if it's just an act for the media.

There are plenty of ways Bulger could have answered this question. The way he chose reads as if he's being pretty sincere, IMO.

Hmm, certainly does not sound like any "lip" to me! :bash:

As Nick just mentioned, I believe this situation and these comments are sincere and supportive from Bulger AND company.

Do you guys think Linehan comes back next year? And do you think he comes back next year even if they string together 6 or so wins?

I wouldn't be much of a shopper either, Linehan, if I was coaching a team that no longer believed in me and we were 0-8....geez, get a clue.
