The '09 Rams: The New O-Line

Just some hopeful optimism here, folks.

Our O-line is now looking to be Barron, Bell, Brown, Cogs, and Smith. (Not necessarily in that order.)

I don't know about anyone else, but I have a feeling that with Karney opening holes up for SJ, and the five up front doing the blocking, I have a feeling that we will be seeing Jackson making some quality runs this season. I would not be shocked to see his YPC above 5.0.

I also have a feeling that Marc will have a lot more time to throw this season. A full second more could make a huge difference. I would guess that he won't be making near as many attempts this year, but with the line we now have, and a back like Jackson, we won't need to play from behind and be forced to go airborne.

    That o-line sounds pretty good.

However, I would love it if Greco pushes Cogs out of the starting RG role in the pre-season. And I'm hoping that Barron will have at least a consistent season at LT.

Really happy with OUR new O line, I,m pretty sure that Smith will become the new LT and move Barron back to his old role... with the arrival of smith this should be music to Marks and Jacksons ears..

I hope this is the case. If S.J. goes for 5.0+ YPC though, we are going to be a MAJOR factor ...

You might as well give it the nickname "J. Crew".

    Jason Smith
    Jacob Bell
    Jason Brown
    John Greco

And then Alex Barron goes and ruins it! He can never do anything right!

Does Smith spend a year learning the ropes on the right before replacing Barron at LT in 2010? That's the key question.

I hope that one of Greco, Setterstrom or Schuening wins the starting spot at RG; I'm not Richie's biggest fan.

you guys really think Bell is any good? Got hurt too much to tell. Sort of over paid in my opinion. Let the young blood start @ LG and Greco @ RG. Cog is often hurt too and his attitude has been costly to us in the past. Lets pond the rock and try to stop other teams from scoring so much!

    Jason Smith - LT
    Jacob Bell - LG
    Jason Brown- C
    Richie Incognito - RG
    Alex Barron - RT

Good group of starters IMO. I hope the "gellin'" is quick and becomes a solid, improved OL!
