I want to say Steve Spagnuolo, DC, New York Giants... but I believe he'll stay. For this reason, I've got 2 candidates. Firstly,

Jim Schwartz, DC, Tennessee, makes too much sense.

This is interesting. I can see potentially Detroit, Cincinatti and Oakland all looking toward offensive tackle with their first pick, and I think, as things stand, they all pick ahead of us. Even Kansas City could use another.

My pick is Michael Oher, OT, Ole Miss, but realism is nagging at me on this one. I'd like to include a clause that it will NOT be a quarterback. If Oher is taken, it comes down to CB Malcom Jenkins or LB James Laurinitis, for mind. Assuming my answers to 3, 4 and 7 are correct, the Rams will have a fair bit of money stitched up in that secondary. For this reason, the pick is Laurinitis, who will move into the middle, meaning Witherspoon will become a starter at outside linebacker, replacing Culberson.

6. Will the Rams take a QB in the draft?
Yes. In the third or fourth round.

7. Will the Rams sign any "big name" FAs?
Yes. Here's my short list. I believe we'll sign at least one, possibly two.

Questions linger as to whether Witherspoon is suited for the middle, and the run defense is still one of the team's biggest weaknesses. His attitude and fire will also be welcomed on a team looking for leadership on the field.

I would love it if we drafted Curtis Painter, but more for personal reasons than football ones. He played high school ball in Vincennes Indiana, about 40 minutes from my hometown. They are in our conference, and he absolutely destroyed us when we played. Not sure how well he'll do in the NFL, but it sure would be pretty cool to see him in horns.
