12-13-09 Rams @ Titans (The biggest game of the next 5 years)

On 12-13-09 Rams @ Titans will determine the future of the franchise. The titans are a dwindling team that has a bad record. If the Rams lose this game there is a good chance that once Tampa Bay and Detroit could have worse records.

The rams would get the number 1 or 2 pick in the draft and probably lock up a franchise QB for 5 years.

Cleveland has to play both Detroit and KC and probably will keep Anderson or Quinn.

Tampa Bay has the worst chance of anyone with their tough schedule. Tampa was 3 Qb's, but you know the old saying, 3 Qb's = NO QB's.

In 2007 , the Rams took Caracter over Beason, Revis, and Bowe.
and 2008 Jake Long was one pick ahead.

The Titans game is a tough game because we can probably win this game and an outside shot at Seattle at home.

2 wins maybe two many.....I think Bulger's arm is shot. He is now Chad Pennington.

We need to lose this game, lol.

If Tampa somehow wins a game by this date maybe Spags can start Keith Noll this game because TB may steal our draft pick.....

It is also very important to get a high second round pick because we can trade our 2nd round pick and a package of picks (since we have two 5th rounders) to potenital move back into the 1st round for a pick in the 20-25 range...

The way I think of it is that the Lions won't take a QB early.

The Browns and KC probably wouldn't either.

The Bucs, Titans, Seahawks, and Oakland may.

Jacksonville won too many games already. Redskins and Raiders still have to play each other. So Rams will pick 1 or 2 again.

Say Hello to a new QB at this spot, like it or not. Its QB, unless there is a DE that is off the charts at the combine.

If Curry couldn't go 2 none of these guys (LB's) can.

So Rams pick 1 or 2 , and its QB, DE, or OL ......Titans game holds our destiny....

    we shall see.....

We don't need to lose any game.

We cant afford to keep drafting players high in the draft for big money. Having a top 10 pick in this years draft will guarantee that a good player is picked.

This draft is full of talent, lets just concentrate on winning games.

I dont ever want the rams to lose, not even for a better position in the draft. Thats just my opinion. If devaney and spags want someone bad enough theyll move up to get them.

It's too early to tell but I think there will be a few high quality quarterbacks left on the board after the top 10.

I don't think we will slip out of the top 10 but I want us as far away from the top pick as possible.

Re: 12-13-09 Rams @ Titans (The biggest game of the next 5 years)

Some years I'm sort of "hoping" we lose games to get a better draft position if we're already out of reach of the playoffs - it's hard to do, you always still want to win too (at least that's how I feel). But this is not one of those years. To me there is no question we need to take every win we can get. We need to stop the culture of losing in this franchise, if we keep losing and losing there will be pressure to fire the coaches, some players will start giving less than 100%, the fans will lose interest. The whole franchise goes south and ownership is forced to make radical changes. I'd rather have stability and a gradual return to winning at this point rather than another shakeup.

And that's not even taking into account the absolutely monstrous contract one of the top picks will demand which could cripple us for years with a wrong choice. If I could choose freely among draft picks in the first round I would be very tempted to go with somewhere between 5 and 10 where you can still get a top QB but the contract is significantly smaller.

I think you couldn't be more wrong we don't need to loose anything. Who says those other teams wont win a few games who says we cant upset some other teams. We need to keep playing hard and put out our best effort every game so we know what we have next year. We should play to win every game thats how we are going to getter. Playing for draft position isn't going to get us anywhere. Wherever we pick as long as we make a good smart pick that pans out we will be fine.

No one is saying we "should" lose....but this game can determine where we pick from 1st to 7th.

Does anyone here think we will have 3 wins at the end of this season ?

Titans and Seahawks are the only chances we have and we will be underdogs in these battles.

That is why the game is so important.

Don't backtrack now, you clearly indicated you thought the Rams needed to lose this game. In regards to that, or any other fan that ever pulls for us to lose, you've completely lost my respect as a fan.

At this point in the season, I could careless where we pick in the draft, nor am I concerned with who is going to be there. I am definitely not sold on ANY of the QB's coming out, nor do I think we need to draft a QB early next year.

I think we can easily win three or more games total this year. You do realize that we came ever, ever so close to beating both Washington and Jacksonville. We could easily be 3-4 right. There will be more games like this, and we'll have an opportunity to win a couple.

To get a quarterback? I think the quarterback crop is deep enough this year that a very fine QB who perfectly suits our needs will be available in round 2.

Personally, I'd rather the Rams drafted Suh out of Nebraska in the first. If the Rams build a death-dealing defense, they really only need a game-manager at QB.

Who's the popular choice for pick no. 32? I think we should concentrate on that spot for now...

    Mr. Infiniti ,

dont tell me what I was trying to indicate.

I was being fascious with all of the picks that we missed out on, and secondly how this game can move us anywhere from the 1st pick to the 8th pick ...

PS - don't need your respect. Trying being the only Rams fan in the meadowlands with my Dickerson jersey on....thats respect,

    nuff said fools

Love him or hate him, Bulger is gonna be around for a couple of years. He is to expensive just throw away. We are not going QB with our first pick.....It's gonna be DEF.

In our situation it may be wise to consider a trade down....New England has mastered this strategy....I hope we can also.....By the way.... I think we win 4 more games

Re: 12-13-09 Rams @ Titans (The biggest game of the next 5 years)

I agree that it's a bit too early to start concentrating on the draft. However, should we get close to the end of the season, and it's clear we're not going anywhere ala the last couple of seasons, then it certainly will be play for draft position for me.

Some fans don't agree with that philosophy and that's fine with me. But just as I don't tell anybody how to root for their team, I certainly don't need anybody suggesting that somehow I'm not a fan because I believe as I do with respect to the draft.

Raminfiniti has stated that he would lose respect for fans playing for draft position instead of rooting for the Rams to win every game, and I suspect there are others who believe the same way.

That's fine if you believe that way, but it certainly doesn't make you any more a fan as someone who chooses to play for draft position when it comes to meaningless games.

To lose respect for someone over this is ridiculous IMO, but to each his/her own I guess.

I'm certainly one you will lose respect for Mr. Ramsinfiniti, because I will continue to root for a loss if I believe it's in the teams best interest long-term. Not only that, but I am very outspoken about it and that's not likely to change.

For instance, if a meaningless game at the end of the season determines whether we have a chance to draft what is widely believed to be a franchise changing player with a loss, then by all means, let the losing begin.

If that philosophy chaps your hide, then I don't know what to tell you, other than consider yourself pre-warned.

Of course this has nothing to do with the players and coaches. They get paid rather handsomely to give it their all week-in and week-out.
