Re: With the 160th overall pick, the Rams select Brooks Foster, WR, UNC

in the next two rounds im hoping another DT and Lee Robinson out of Alcon State to play some situational OLB play..he doesnt have the allround game but he makes some big plays and can blitz the QB from the outside.

Brandstater is still available also i believe..

but with all that said, B.P.A is fine with me.

No that's him Sam! Strengths: He has good hands, can grab a bottle scotch faster than most, good speed, can out run the cops

Weakness: Stutters a bit and can take awhile to finish!

He is not Nicks or Tate, but he has more upside than both. The Rams needed a possession receiver and this guy could be that in the future.

You should not be drafting needs in the late rounds....

Foster was taken in a similar position to Burton last year ...

Burton's stock slipped because of injuries ...

Foster's combine was affected by injury, and he got pushed down the depth chart because of some other talents ...

Foster is not quite the receiver Burton is, as Burton was a monster at Kentucky, but he seems to have incredible physical ability ...

Could be a big time steal ...

Doesn't sound like a bad pick to me, Screams special teams as pointed to earlier.... I could see him contribute a return man..

Didnt Foster play opposite side of Nicks in carolina his stats werent to bad being that he was sharing the ball with Nicks and Quinn.

According to Billy Devaney, the players are all so close rated that are left in the last three round at least that teams boards, in HIS words "disintigrate", and teams go JUST for need. This is where the talent equality makes it possible to fill holes, including on special teams.

Why draft a guard in round six, if even a high ranked one might not make your team? Guys in the late rounds stick because they get the CHANCE. If the depth chart is full of veterans and high picks, those guys never get the chance.

Since Devaney learned from Bobby Beathard, I'll take their word that you are wrong here....

Not too bad. We needed a WR and we got one.

I have one resource that lists him with a fifth round grade, so it depends on who you talk to. .

All of a sudden the '53 man' roster limit begins to take more and more significance.

It may be too early to worry about that but I wish these new recruits best wishes in their opportunities during the next few weeks.

Re: With the 160th overall pick, the Rams select Brooks Foster, WR, UNC

Thanks nick. This is another thing that drives me nuts. There are a hundred different projections. The fact that someone finds a list that says the guy is a 7th round projection or talent and we take him in round 5 does not make him a reach. It only makes him a reach in one particular persons opinion. The opinion i am interested in is the talent grades of spags and billy. For all any of us know, we had a 4th round grade on a guy we got in round 5. This is also subjective and a matter of opinion. Given that we have professionals running the draft, i am a lot more interested in them than i am the amateurs.

It seems to me that by the time you get to the fifth round, the ratings don't really mean a whole lot. Everybody seems to basically agree on the very best picks at each position, but down here it's more of a matter of how much weight you put on the different question marks--because there's something to question about everyone at this point.
