So long as we get the right number of players on the field, I'm all for that.

Grading at this point is idiotic anyway. Come back in three years and see how the guys did and then you can grade the draft.

Is it possible we would be using him at linebacker? I saw he was a little bit under 250 which is goodsize for a linebacker .

Apparently he used to run track and play safety. My guess is if he is fast enough he will be learning some OLB.

Just picked another DE in the 7th. Seems we're just picking up the ends and hoping some will stick.lol.

If anyone can find useful d linemen, then it has to be Spags

This guy will be good once they get some HGH in him and puts on 30 lbs.

    Eugene sims ...... Lb?

6-5 and some change, 240 and some more change.......What's his speed like?

This guy played DE at W. Texas A&M but looks like a big linebacker to me. Possibly a project for SLB. Instinctive difference maker at his level in college.

Is he is smart enough to make a transition like this?

    Is he fast enough?

Am I just thinking stupid thoughts? Don't answer this one.

    Does this seem tangible?

    Re: Eugene sims ...... Lb?

He's not a 4-3 OLB candidate because he can't cover and can't change directions quickly. His scouting reports routinely mention (could all be copying each other?) that he is a liability in coverage.

    Look at the Giants DEs:

MATHIAS KIWANUKA is 6'5 and 265ish
JUSTIN TUCK is 6'5 and 275ish
DAVE TOLLEFSON is 6'4 and 255
OSI UMENYIORA is 6'4 and 260

Look at what the Rams draft:
Sims is 6'6 and 240 - can he gain 20 lbs and keep his speed?
Hall Davis is 6'5 and 270.

They are both quick burst guys (not top end speed) with a good first move, tall, lanky and projects. How is that different than Osi?

They got Selvie 6-7 252 also. Can he add 20 pounds!

    Thanks for the feedback.

Since we need OLB's, I'd imagine we'll give him every opportunity to convert to the Sam backer to play for first and second down. If he truly is a liability in coverage, then we'll see if he can handle the line.
    I believe!

I went with Gilyard and Sims. There's something about those small school defensive players that just seem to make them hungry. Remember that guy that played for us from John Carroll of all places? What was his name?

Wasn't his name like London...England? Something like that.
