1999 St. Louis Rams Story on NFL Network Documentary Tonight

The 1999 Rams are featured tonight at 8:30 ET on the NFL Networks documentary series, "America's Game - The Super Bowl Champions".

It should be interesting, although I'm not sure I'm happy with the Rams being ranked 19th out of the top 20 Super Bowl-winning teams of all time.

Yeah, honestly we should be top 5 and even that is still ridiculous. I think we should be 1 or 2.

We're both obviously biased, but I also thought we had a chance to be in the top five. We had one hell of a dominant team that year.

It wasn't an especially pretty win. But, a win is a win. In 1999 our team was one of the best of all time. Are they ranking the game or our 1999 Rams team?

Thanks for the heads up mike.

Very good documentary. All the great highlights, but it was the insightful, fascinating commentary from Dick Vermeil, Kurt Warner and especially DíMarco Farr (an articulate, impressive story teller) that made it so interesting and entertaining. A lot of great inside stuff I had never heard before, like Vermeil broadcasting one of Farr's college games and saying on air that D'Marco would never make it in the NFL, or Farr praying McNair not run on the last play in SB 34 because he didn't think anyone on an exausted Ram defense would be able to get him down. Good stuff all around.

I like the story about changing practice from 3 hours to 2 hours....but having to do the same amount of work...lol...

That was pretty funny, especially after the players passed notes to Vermeil in an effort to have him ease up, only to make things twice as bad.

Great documentry...Love the Rams 42-20 win to end the losing streak to the Whiners. What a season, what a team. To be ranked 19th is nothing to be ashamed of although I do feel we should have been higher. After all, top ranked offense (#1), top 10 ranked defense (#6) and excellent specials teams. "The Whole Package".....THE GREATEST SHOW ON TURF !!!

    OHHH the memories...

I thoroughly enjoyed watching this. It was insightful into what goes into building a winning attitude and a championship team. I really liked the part where Kurt said that after a big play midway into the season when Marshall came before him and made an outline of his heart and pointed at Kurt. That told him that Marshall believed in him and that he was the one to lead them. It was really just full of things like that. Truly insightful and awesome to watch. Luckily I recorded it on my DVR for future use. If anyone gets a chance to see a rerun of this then by all means do so. It is worth watching. Oh the memories of the GSOT!!! BTW, at the end it said that when the team received their rings that this was the time that Vermeil knew that he had made a mistake retiring. What a shame...He was so cool under pressure on the sidelines during the coverage on the show...Truly a field general at work. I give it 5 stars!!!!!!
