2 Seconds.....

after watching the rams patriots game on nfl network, we were indeed screwed out of 2 seconds. vinatieri kick the ball 48 yards in 7 seconds?? the clock was at the bottom of the screen and it counted down. the ball had hit the ground a good two seconds before the time ran out.. but they ran the remaining time out.... this may be a dead issue, but it still gets to me

Re: 2 Seconds.....

Yeah! That game is filled with bad memories.

On a side note, after watching the Patsies super bowl win vs. Panthers, I feel that we could have easily beat Philly and had a rematch. One that could have resulted in big pay back. Interesting had the Rams reached the super bowl and won that would have had some even saying the Rams were a dynasty.

Re: 2 Seconds.....

Just saw it on NFL Network you are right :05 - :02 seconds.

That last drive was defense fault, how can you let a team get so far with a minute plus and no timeouts. Defense sucked that last drive!

I started watching the replay on NFL NETWORK but decided to let the wife watch HOUSE instead. Thought that move would be a lot healthier for my heart and temper.

Side note***

RAMS #1 Ranked Offense
RAMS #3 Ranked Defense

Patriots #24 Offense and #19 Defense......

But of course we had the three blind monkeys for officials...Hear nothing, see nothing and most importantly say nothing!!!:x

Methinks there were ulterior motives for such a seemingly rash decision. Was she looking especially hot?

Hope you got what you were after!

:l

SIDE NOTE: I also watched the replay of the game. Again. I also saw time on the clock which was allowed to run off after the field goal to end the game.

Our Rams did great to tie the game but scored too fast and left too much on the clock. Hindsight, a wonderful thing........

Re: 2 Seconds.....

We were screwed so much in that game.
On the Pats final drive, Brady had an uncalled intentional grouding. He threw the pass out of bounds before he got out of the pocket (look at the film, he is still IN the pocket), and that would have probably sent the game in to OT.
I saw a video once showing 150 yards of uncalled personal foul penalties (including a blow to the head on Warner, a spearing on Faulk, hitting a player out of bounds, etc...), that was not including all the defensive holding that was going on.
The Pats defense even ADMITS Belichick told them to hold Faulk, and they kept doing it because the refs never called it. I really feel that if the refs had at LEAST called that one factor of the game (the holding on Faulk so the Pats could do it), we would have won by 21.

Yeah we got screwed, and the more I see it the more I am convinced, and it really, really ticks me off.

So to please myself:

Re: 2 Seconds.....

Wow, sorry but I am really pissed off about this. I did not really realize all of this because I was a lot younger but now I see this and I think, what the hell? How come we couldn't get a fair calling game? The whole holding Faulk thing enrages me to no end.

I never kiss and tell.

Seriously though I could feel the hair on the back of my neck start to rise as I was watching the beginning of the game. Knowing all along we were going to be treated unfairly.

Re: 2 Seconds.....

there was one play were kurt took a blow to the head.. lost his helmet.. got up and started screaming at the ref.. the ref looked at him and shook his head. and when faulk was held on 4th down on the play were kurt fumbled the ball at the goal line.. it looked like the head ref was pissed that another ref threw the flag.. it was almost like he said.

Re: 2 Seconds.....

It's true about the 2 seconds, but that's just one very small error compared to the rest of the game. The refs apparently had decided beforehand that they were going to allow the Patriot defense to completely beat up and hold our players for 60 minutes never mind the rules. It was either done on purpose (I'm not usually much for conspiracy theories but it stood out so much you have to at least consider it) or that crew is THE MOST INCOMPETENT refs that I have ever seen in any sport and any game. I don't know what to believe but I do know we were robbed more than I have ever seen any other team be before or since.

Go Giants!
