    20 FWIWs

    For what its worth...
    1. Though the Rams are 0-4, its worth noting that their opponents thus far are a combined 11-7. Their next four are 14-5.
    2. With all the bad draft choices the Rams have made, Ron Bartell is proving to be a very solid NFL player, and he continues to improve.
    3. If you think Rams fans are down on Marc Bulger, how do you think Seahawk fans feel, considering Matt Hasselbeck currently has a passer rating of 57.7?
    4. Steven Jackson is averaging 18.5 rushing attempts per game. That number needs to go up.
    5. Steven Jackson is third among NFL running backs with 20 receptions.
    6. Donnie Jones leads the NFL with a punting average of 52.7 yards.
    7. Jim Haslett has stated he did not take part in the decision to cut Fakhir Brown. Why should he have... he was only the defensive coordinator, after all.
    8. O.J. Atogwe has taken a step back. He needs to step up.
    9. Stick a fork in Corey Chavous.
    10. Michael Oher. Get to know him.
    11. For some reason, I'm finding myself really pulling for Joe Klopfenstein.
    12. Its hard not to think of Brian Leonard as a bust, though something tells me he could be a contributer for someone else.
    13. I'm still behind Marc Bulger.
    14. I still think the Rams should have drafted a developmental QB in the last two years.
    15. I may have been wrong about Jay Cutler.
    16. Say what you will about Mike Martz, but if he can make an effective starter out of J.T. O'Sullivan...
    17. Look for long passes to Donnie Avery (soon and often).
    18. I don't know if it will be this week, but I really think that some overconfident team is going to be really surprised by the Rams in the next few games.
    19. The trade deadline is coming in a few days. Don't expect anything, though. Just thought I'd mention it.
    20. If the Rams don't start playing Greco and Scheuning soon, I'll be very surprised and disappointed.

    21. Steven Jackson is 2nd in the NFL in total yards (rush + rec) per game (120.0, behind #1 Frank Gore's 120.6).

Teams rarely try to throw deep on us because we keep Landry 30 yards deep to eliminate the big play.

Your deep shots to Avery might have to come after this week

    For what it's worth...

Our 1st round draft pick, the son of Howie Long is playing pretty good.

    22. The Redskins' defense ranks 26th in sacks this season behind the Rams at 24th. If Jason Taylor doesn't play, it could be a good day for our offensive line.

Oh, the fans in the District ought to know about Chris Long. He played his college ball just a ways down Highway 29 at the University of Virginia.

As for Greco and Scheuning, I think we have to give Bell a chance now that he is healthy again. It might be time for Barron and Cogs to start watching their backs, though.

All a matter of how they play, fleece. The line has stepped up to some degree the last two games, somewhat limiting the hits that were taken by the QB. We'll see how they do this week, against a D line that is hurt by injuries.

I always thought he was a bit overrated myself. His interceptions always came in bunches and the rest of the time he was usually out of position.

    26. I have a strong suspiscion that the Pittsburgh Steelers filmed the Rams final walkthrough practice prior to Super Bowl 14. I also believe the Cleveland Browns filmed the Rams just before the 1950 championship game.

16 - Martz is a very good offensive coordinator. That's it. When Nolan is let go in SF, management should stay away from naming him the Head Coach.

    19 - Ditto - dont expect anything.

    3. Difference is, Seattle has no WRs, and are coming off a playoff season.

    9. Did that a couple of years back.

    12. Certainly not his fault he's been a bust thus far, he never should've been drafted in the second round to begin with. The front office are the real busts.

    16. JT O'Sullivan? Who were Kurt Warner and Marc Bulger? I don't think anybody ever questioned his abilities as an offensive coordinator, unfortunately for him he tried to be a head coach.

    18. The odds are certainly on our side.

    Re: 20 FWIWs

16: JT is #18 QB in NFL, on track for almost as many INTs as TDs,getting sacked like crazy( 20 so far), and probably made to look better by Bruce & Gore than even those factoids would suggest. Martz's offense is a kamikaze mission for QBs. Did seeing Warner get battered not register ?

    20. Interesting analysis of the o-line/run game here.

Light through the holes of the Rams*o-line - Turf Show Times

Not sayin' they don't need to play better but things may not be as bad ,or as bad in those spots, as we thought. Let them settle in & stay healthy before we start going crazy.

    Re: 20 FWIWs

Get Bulger and Jackson rolling early in the game. I want Bulger to play better in the second half, but I want him to play great in the first half.

Get Jackson the ball. His touches need to increase, why not start it this week?

Avery is the starter, show us that speed and make some plays. Make Holt an available option to throw at.

Would anyone agree that Ron Bartell is our best player in the secondary?

Yes. No doubt about it. We had Atogwe last year, but it appears as if he stepped back. Sure, he's the only one on our team with an interception though...Still, Bartell is the best. Lets hope he doesn't take a step back next year...

I think this is his last year on this contract...I could be wrong, but If it is I hope we can lock him up.
