20 Post-"All I want for X-mas is to beat the Whiners" Random Thoughts

    1. Sam Bradford: QB rating of 107.0 today. So much for that rookie wall.
    2. You have to love what Danario Alexander adds to this offense.
    3. The D line was HUGE today!
    4. The game never should have been that close.
    5. My pick was Rams 24, Niners 16. Pretty close, huh?
    6. James Hall had a MONSTER game.
    7. Great and very timely return by Danny A.
    8. There were a few calls I didn't like but, overall, I think Shurmur opened up the offense nicely.
    9. The play Bradford made on the TD to Robinson was veteranesque (is that a word? It is now!)
    10. From 1 win to 7 (and counting). Heck of a turnaround year.
    11. Craig Dahl had some nice pass breakups today.
    12. Darian Stewart has proven to be a nice street FA pickup.
    13. 5-3 home record for the year. Nice.
    14. The Rams have beaten all three division rivals this year. Also nice.
    15. Eliminating the Niners. Gotta love that.
    16. Though its hard to tell on TV (steaming on internet), but it seemed like a better crowd this week.
    17. James Laurinaitis with another solid game. It will be nice to get him some help in the LB corps.
    18. The Rams outscored the Niners 13-3 in the second half. That is significant for a team that has struggled in Quarters 3 and 4.
    19. Brandon Gibson (but for one bad drop) had a very good game.
    20. ON TO SEATTLE!!!!!

Crowd was IN the dome today and it was loud as all get out! Excellent response to the people who were calling them out. Great points. Bradford made some less than stellar throws but shaped it up nicely towards the end and made some very nice plays later on.

    Ecstatic over this win.

Agreed with all your points. We gotta get Sam & Steven some offensive help during the off-season. By that I mean not simply skill positions, but also O-Line. All told, great win and gotta love eliminating the 9'ers.

Go Rams! On to Seattle and then a home playoff game, presumably against the Saints, whom we'll know what they have as we just saw them, of course they just saw us too. What a great year!!

WHOOHOOO! Rams are now one win away from hosting a playoff game.

And this is the main reason why...

You can tell the St. Louis crowd was full and rockin' because FOX had very few crowd shots. Those that they did have had to zoom in tight on the niner fans in attendance, so as not to show the large quantity of home crowd in attendance.

The game was on FOX in New Jersey. Saved me the trouble from driving to a bar in 12 inches (and counting) of snow. Clutch. Super win. To think our last game of the season is meaningful after last season's 1-15 record is wonderful. Kudos to every coach, player and front office guy in the organization.

Bradford did an excellent job of managing the game on a day where Steven Jackson didn't have much room to run. Amendola continues to shine. Couldn't believe it when they said he has the most yards from scrimmage of any player in the NFL. Unbelievable. James Hall was outstanding today, as was Fred Robbins, who played like the veteran we expected to get when we signed him. Alexander, Robinson and Gibson all contributed at various junctures in the game. And the defense came up big time after time.

I thought the playcalling was pretty good for the most part. Good job on a couple of those misdirection handoffs to mix it up a bit, including the one to Gibson to get a big 1st down late. The only thing that frustrates me is to see them call 4-5 yard passes over the middle when we need 8-9 yards. Otherwise, Shurmur was on target today.

The biggest disappointments from today were the big plays given up and what I thought was an extremely poor job of run blocking by the offensive line. While they protected Bradford pretty well, they didn't open up anything for Jackson, who had nothing all day. This game should have been over in the 1st half, as San Francisco showed repeatedly what a train wreck it is. Picks, fumbles, bad snaps for a safety, penalties and Troy Smith jawing with Singletary. We didn't capitalize nearly as much as you have to when the opponent gives you gifts.

As a Rams fan in 2010, we can't ask for anything more going into the last game of the year. The best still lies ahead for this team. Great job!!

DX balling when he gets the ball the offense is completely different. Put someone opposite him in Sam and his sophmore year and you will have a pretty good offense.

What he did today with zero help from the running game was nothing short of amazing. Today, he shattered the notion of any rookie wall.

Absolutely. So exuberant with so much energy. The offensive PI called on him was a joke.

They were, especially in crunch time.

Where would we be without this guy? Without a doubt, the most consistent performer game in, game out.

He did a good job mixing things up, although it would have been nice to see him trust Bradford at the end of the game and let him throw a few passes.

    A thing of beauty.

Yep, the seats were full and there was a lot of noise. Great to see and hear.

He gets better with each week. There is no doubt he's a Ram in 2011 and beyond.

Some guys stepped up and had huge games. If we didn't have a ST lapse in coverage they would of only had 1 touchdown. Shoutouts to: Craig Dahl, O.J Atogwe, Darian Stewart, James Hall, Chris Long, Fred Robbins, James Laurinaitis, Sam Bradford, Steven Jackson, Brandon Gibby, Laurent Robinson, Danario Alexander, Danny Amendola.

All the players I listed had a nice game. They all contributed and that is why this was a total team effort and total team win. LETS GO TO SEATTLE AND THEN TO THE PLAYOFFS!!!!!!!!!!!
