That 2002 draft looks particularly atrocious

Especially when consider, obviously in hindsight, that the Rams #1 the following year was Kennedy.

    Recap:

    1. Robert Thomas
    2. Travis Fisher
    3a. Lamar Gordon
    3b. Eric <snort> Crouch
    4. Travis Scott
    5. Courtland Bullard
    6. Steve Bellisari
    7. Chris Massey

I am speechless just typing those names. This was six years ago, and you'd think five years experience on some good talent would have yielded some good players on todays dreadfully thin team. 2002, the beginning of the downfall?

The average skill level on the team now is dire. It will take a while to build it back up.

I must know. Did you buy it after all the shenanigans as a joke or did you buy it early on honestly thinking/hoping that he would be a good player for us?

I almost considered buying one myself as a joke btw.

As much as I want to be snarky about their poor draft, if you peruse the first three rounds it doesn't look like it was a very good draft year overall. To be sure we still underperformed, but it seems like a lot of teams probably regret their draft that year.

Just goes to show you, WHY TX HATES SO MUCH DETAILED TALK ABOUT THE DRAFT. Well, I guess it's like a tv channel, I can always choose to not go there but it's like the girl that tells you NO, you always go back to her. lol

Anyway, the draft is a crap shoot. Who knows if Jake Long or Chris Long or whoever is going to pan out? You don't.

To the Rams credit though, Thomas coming out of college was very good. Heck, I think he even has the High School record for most tackles EVER.

I really like massey, but i swear to all that the snap in the carolina playoff game was just a tad off, which is what led to money leaving the game winning field goal just a bit short. Moneys timing got screwed up, the kick was dead center.

I feel your pain, Richbert. But let us not forget that the Rams eventually traded Lamar Gordon to Miami for a 3rd round pick and that pick was used to select O.J. Atogwe. Hopefully this little tidbit of info will help you out is some small way.

Gordon wasn't bad when he needed him, I still remember him having a great day against the Steelers in Pittsburgh back in 2003.
Massey was a great pick. Anybody that knows the talent and performance around the league will agree he has been a very consistant long snapper.
    But the rest... oh my.
