Re: 2005 Free Agents: Offensive Tackle
I doubt that we'll have cap room, but, it would be nice to pick up Walter Jones of Seattle. Does anybody see any scenarios where we could afford him? Perhaps Marshall renegotiates as a backup, Pace signs a long term contract and Turley's cap hit is reduced due to injury retirement? Just a thought.

Re: 2005 Free Agents: Offensive Tackle
Anyone on that list would be better than Williams or Turley at this point

Re: 2005 Free Agents: Offensive Tackle
I'd rather draft one.

Re: 2005 Free Agents: Offensive Tackle
You mean him AND Pace? No, I don't see any scenarios in which that would occur. We can't even afford to sign Pace right now, let alone two tackles in that talent bracket.

Re: 2005 Free Agents: Offensive Tackle
I agree. Let's draft our RT. However, if we use our 1st round pick, we could find a starter in this OT-rich draft. If we finish 6-10 (an unfortunate but distinct possibility), we may even find a starter with our 2nd round pick. It's a good crop of tackles this year, if some of the underclassmen come out.

Re: 2005 Free Agents: Offensive Tackle
It should be noted that as of right now, the Rams have the 17th pick in the draft.

Re: 2005 Free Agents: Offensive Tackle
Why the Hell is everyone so enamoured with Turley...the dude was a cancer on the Saints and he was a cancer on the Rams last year. Get over him already. If we're not allowed to talk about a certain ex Rams QB....please give up the Turley ass-kissing already. I'm tired of it!

1) Turley is still a Ram.

Re: 2005 Free Agents: Offensive Tackle
Only a technicality because he's still getting paid. As far as being a Ram in spirit...bull****.....he bailed on the team as soon as he was injured. I can't even tell you how many times over the course of my life as a football fan I've seen players lost for the season to injury and yet there they were all season long on the sidelines supporting their teammates, giving them encouragement, etc. where the hell is Turley...even the coach has no idea. He's a Ram? My ass he is. If he was a Ram....he'd be there at gametime. If he was the leader he pretended to be last year, maybe he should have stuck around to help coach his replacement. He's supposed to be the greatest thing since sliced bread according to some people...so isn't it likely he might have something to teach the youngsters? The dude's a loser!

Re: 2005 Free Agents: Offensive Tackle
When he stops being on the Rams' payroll, then perhaps people will stop talking about him. Until then, regardless of the "spirit" stuff and his attitude, he's still a Ram, like it or not.

I won't ague that point, but you know what? He was here last year and our O-line wasn't that much better.

Re: 2005 Free Agents: Offensive Tackle
It looks more and more like Turley will be making a return. Like him or not, he's a good player and would save us a first round draft pick that we could spend on this swiss cheese defense.
I'm sure some still hold a grudge because he supported the starting QB back in 2003 too.
