Re: 2008 Prediction
With the way the off season has gone so far, I want to say that we can get 8 or 9 wins. But, we have a fairly strong schedule against a lot of teams that show some major improvement last year. Free agentcy and the offensive line will make us or break us.

Re: 2008 Prediction
I voted for 5-9 wins this year. With the new coaches, the schedule for '08 (which isn't as easy as you might think it should be for a 3-13 team), the recovering players, the aging players, the draft, and free agency; man, that's too many uncertainties to get past and still think we will be playoff bound. Like tx, I hope I'm wrong and will gladly eat crow next December if I am. Still I can't help but believe this will be a re-building year.

Re: 2008 Prediction
IF we stay healthy, we can finish .500. We're a slightly below average roster, so IF we stay healthy that at least brings us up to par with better teams that aren't as healthy.

Re: 2008 Prediction
i think we'll finish 7-9,
but basically i would be happy if we went 2-14 but the two wins were complete poundings of the seahawks lol just kidding.

Re: 2008 Prediction
I believe at this time 5-9 wins is the most realistic prediction. Influences that can change this include, the draft, free agency and injuries both to us and our opponents, plus we have a really tough schedule with the 2 Super Bowl teams on our schedule.
I further think our division will get tougher as Arizona and Seattle will be better and San Francisco although weak overall still has some talented younger players who will begin to pay dividends.
Our new OC, Al Saunders is a real cause for optimisim.
Go Rams!:r

Re: 2008 Prediction
Pending the draft and FA, 5-9 wins.

Re: 2008 Prediction
As with the vast majority voting here, I went with 5-9 wins. I'm thinking with just a return of our 2007 players healthy again and remaining that way throughout the season, we can get back to where I think we should have been, which is around a .500 season. Considering the overall talent we have.
With the team "as-is", and some good bounces going our way, perhaps 9 wins for 2008.
Now, if we don't screw up the draft and collect a strong FA or two, we could possibly get 10 wins. But with the limited cap space we have, and the probability that our first two or three picks will be linemen, I don't think we'll realize much of an impact this year in the offseason.
...on the downside, if our injured linemen don't recover 100%, and the injury bug continues next year, we're obviously going to repeat this year's pathetic record, new OC or not.Faithful Rams fan since 1968

Re: 2008 Prediction
With the schedule and the questions regarding our pass rush and offensive line, I can't give us more than 7 or 8 wins. We solidify some of those questions and maybe we can move into playoff range with 9-10 if we catch some breaks.

Re: 2008 Prediction
Going through the 2008 season HEALTHIER than last year, I think, is a given. That kind of lightning cannot strike Rams Park twice -- in a row!
The following not in sequence of importance:
a) New OC, a good one at that. Improved offense.
b) Coach SL hopefully learning from his mistakes; from the entire '07 ordeal.
c) Defense improved a notch (stronger DL particularly).
d) Ditto Special Teams.
e) A couple of decent FA acquisitions or three.
f) Ditto come draft time.
g) Better F.O. overall management.
Believing that the Cards, Squawks, and Whiners will be just a tad weaker than last year makes me more optimistic than usual too!
My vote: 10-6.
fftopic: ...So please, do NOT let go of Sir Isaac Bruce! // Thanks Ramer, for the thread.

Re: 2008 Prediction
I'd go for between 7-9, with an outside shot at 10.

Re: 2008 Prediction
RR, your SL comment is right on. Last night I was watching the NFL channel and Jim "PLAYOFFS?" Mora was on. Someone mentioned to him about Harbaugh who had no experience as a HC but had worked under some good coaches and maybe he learned how to be a HC from them. Mora's reply was "you learn about being a headcoach by being a headcoach." I hope, for the Rams sake that SL can take what he's learned and turn it into a positive.
