I was just thinking "It's so great that the Rams have stayed out of hurry up...wouldn't want to go 3-and-out...right Fisher?" Not losing faith, just trying to understand his logic there. The way we're running the offense right now is clearly not working.

of course they go SEVENTEEN games without a 100+ yard rusher...until practically the first quarter against the rams...

At some point you have to challenge receivers and not give them 10 yards free release. This soft coverage kills us week after week. 3rd and 7 is a gimme against us anymore.

The hurry up won't help us right now, we are getting dominated on both lines. Hurry up does not equal automatic success.

I'm glad our DB's continue to play 8 yards off the line so the Cowboys can get easy first downs.

    It'll equal wins eventually, right?

New strategy as a fan. I 'm going to start watching the games in the 2nd half only. That's when the team actually shows up for the game.

At this point, it's certainly worth a try.

Re: 2013 Week 3: Rams @ Cowboys Game Discussion Thread

I didn't think it could look worse than the first half against Atlanta last week, but this might be a contender.

Biggest problem I see offensively is the line just isn't up to the task. Very few holes to run through on very vanilla running play calls. Pass protection is very suspect, Bradford has no time to throw anything beyond a dink. We have two former Pro Bowlers on this line, Dahl is a solid enough starter, Williams has first round talent and is playing an easier position inside. There's no reason this unit should be as bad as they've been.

If you want to argue the combination of youth and new pieces on offense explains the slow start to this season, there may be some merit to that. But I don't think there's a reasonable explanation as to why the defense has looked as bad as it has. I don't think we're seeing the pressure we were last season, coverage is softer than a bed of kittens, and tackling fundamentals look questionable at best. I feel for the D, because we know the Rams aren't winning the time of possession battle at this point, but they looked porous on the very first drive.

    Just ugly so far.

It looks like the D line isn't doing anything, and the corners are so far back that they aren't able to make a play

Fisher is a defensive coach. I don't get it. 2nd year should be even better than last year. Way worse.

This is the first rams game I'm getting to watch this season that's not NFL red zone clips, and honestly all I can say is I'm astounded. I ain't even mad, I'm just in shock.
