KoaKoi makes a good, if not grammatically correct point. Brock Berlin may be the third option, but at least he looked solid in the preseason. Who knows what he could do in the real games, but at least he's younger.
I will agree that I'd much rather have a promising 2nd stringer who's fresh out of college, but we've certainly done a lot more with a lot less "talented". Maybe we should get Brock a job moonlighting at a grocery store.

Re: 27 and Under (aka "The Core")
I coach my two older sons' soccer team (4-6 year olds). The other day at practice one of my players, a darling little 5-year-old named Emily runs on to the field with a blue tongue and blue lips. Obviously she has just consumed a blue sucker or blue candy of some sort. So jokingly I ask her, "Hey Emily, have you been kissing a Smurf?"
She looked up at me with a pair of big brown confused eyes and said, "What's a Smurf, Coach bison?"
I looked down at her with a pair of big brown suddenly aged eyes and said, "Are you f@#$%ing kidding me?!?! What the f@#k's a Smurf?!?!? What are you some kind of sh!&-eating Communist or something?!?!"
Okay, actually my exact words were, "Nevermind, Emily. Run along and kick the soccer ball around." But she knew what I meant."Before the gates of excellence the high gods have placed sweat; long is the road thereto and rough and steep at first; but when the heights are reached, then there is ease, though grievously hard in the winning." --- Hesiod

Re: 27 and Under (aka "The Core")
Maybe with the new management and coach they wont pass on a great qb in this years draft as in years past, get one of them big 12 gunslingers, Daniels or McCoy would be my 1st 2 choices stay away from FLA and Cali qbs.

If we had taken cutler instead of tye hill, we wouldnt have El Cabong on the roster, albeit the suspended list.

Re: 27 and Under (aka "The Core")
If there's a QB that's the best player available where we pick, I'm fine with taking him, such as where Green Bay cherry picked Aaron Rodgers in 2005. However, I wouldn't want to target a QB on the first day when we do still have many holes on this team.
Offensive line, strong safety, offensive line, backup RB, backup QB, linebacker. All of these are needs so far. We're lucky in that a number of our young players are stepping up, but there's still a very good reason why we lost four to start the season. Best player available in the draft.
