    4 Pillars

I think we need to scrap this philosophy..we're not building a Church choir here, it s a football team...guys like Chris Long, are just not worth a 2nd overall pick, just b/c hes a good guy...im not saying bring in thugs, but this management seems to be more interested in nice guys then real football players..

Yep, you're right, because the Rams were the only team that had Long in the top 5 players available ....

I dont know if you are being sarcastic, but if you are youre an idiot..he was borderline top 5 pick..and we clearly took him because he was squeaky clean...and hes just one of many examples...

Careful, your facts will get in the way of his carefully planned argument.

Just as an aside...I mean really nothing major but...

According to Scouts Inc in 2008 Chris Long was one of the top players in the draft...

    Just sayin..

Yea screw the normal give a coach three years to build a program... 3 games is enough of an indication for me.

Just curious though.... with hindsight 20/20 who should we have drafted with the number 2 pick of the 2008 draft?

Ummm, no. You can believe that if you'd like, but he was widely anticipated to be a solid top 5 pick, and many pundits thought he could go #1 overall. There were even reports that Miami was going to take him #1 overall if they couldn't come to an agreement with Jake Long.

Behind this offensive line? No thanks. Wouldn't want to do that to him (or us).

Hindsight is 20/20 but we werent in the market for a QB at the time..we needed DE help and that is what we got.

    Re: 4 Pillars

What are the character issues that revolved around Matt Ryan that precluded us from taking him, again?

Oh my, that's some juicy bait there, THAT PERSONAL ATTACK, but I'm just not taking the hook today. Frying you would be WAY too easy ...

    Oh my oh my ...

    But to SIMPLIFY ...

    JUST ..... BECAUSE ..... MATT ..... RYAN ..... WAS ..... SUCC .... ESS ... FUL .... IN .... ATL ... ANTA .... DOES ... N ... ' .... T ... MEAN ... HE .... WOULD .... BE ..... IN ..... ST .... . .... LOUIS ....

    Re: 4 Pillars

So just to clarify, in the 2008 draft we selected Chris Long, a marginal top-5 pick at best, because we wanted to avoid Matt Ryan's character issues that conflicted with the 4 pillars of the New York Giant's defensive coordinator.

    Gotcha.

I like how you noticed that flaw in his argument also. Congrats.
