5 moves to turn it around.

You've just accepted the GM job and your first 5 moves are ___.

This is what I would do:

    1) Tell the OC if he doesn't open up the playbook he can dust off his resume.
Reason- You need to play to your team strength and this teams identity is still in the image of Linehans predecessor. Until Scott gets a greater roster turnover he has to abide by this.
    2) Trade Pisa for a decent OL.
Reason- He's always hurt and undersized. Maybe, you find a team that needs a LB as much as the Rams need a OL (fat chance).
    3) Move Spoon back to the right side.
Reason- He's in the second year of the position and the system, it's not working. Good WLB, average at best MLB.
    4) Start Draft at MLB, rotating Culberson and McGarigle into the mix.
Reason-The answer is not Spoon. Let's go with the vet (also playing out of position) initially and slowly bring these young guys up to speed. If nothing else let these guys earn some experience this season.
    5) Get Hagans involved in the return game and give him a few plays on offense.
Reason-Young blood. Rams need a spark to build off of. Plus, he's got the most TD's of anyone on the team in '07 even if they were scored in the preseason. Shoot, the Rams are playing like their still in the preseason.

    [SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]Maybe not now, but soon.

Didn't we just give Pisa an extension? That'd be a bad first impression for a gm...

Would it? Ever heard the expression, "cut your losses"?

Guess the Rams should have kept Chris Claiborne too.

I'm pretty sure we'd like to at least give him another shot. He is a great LB, unlike Claiborne. Wasting money like that, is not something a GM should be doing.

Not that, lol. I like everything else you said man, just not the Pisa trade off. If he didn't get a contract extension it'd be a different story.

I'm game for trying some of your ideas badmofo, but I do have to agree with Varg on Pisa. He really isn't tradeable right now due to his contract. On top of that, what team is going to give up a decent OL for Pisa who is almost always injured. No team will be interested I'm afraid.

    First signed a SS now!

Second, use Little on third down or passing situations, he is getting run over on the edges. Use Victor Adeyanju , Trevor Johnson even AC.

Third, tell Linehan itís your job to loss, you can let Olsen call the plays and you live with them. Or you can call the plays and have a say in your future. We hired you for your offense skills not your over all HC management abilities. We hired you to put points on the board, be creative, finding mismatches that we can take advantage of. Not get dictated too during the game and play to the other teams strengths. Itís your call.

Fourth, we can make a run at it this year due to the weak west, give up a draft pick an TE perhaps and rebuild the O line now.

Fifth, burn those white paints, they look bad and we never play well in them.

Re: 5 moves to turn it around.

    My suggestions:

    1. Put GUS in the game. Bulger is hurt physically and scared mentally. Tell everyone he's got seriously bruised ribs and make him sit as our #3 QB for 4 weeks and see if the offensive line can get better.

    2. There isn't much you can do on the offensive line at this point until Cogs gets back. Hold another tryout day and see if you can find a gem in a scrap heap. Injuries aren't going to disappear and these guys are all banged up. If McCollum can't play now, why is he on this roster? If he can't play a better guard than Brown, I don't see why he's here anymore.

    3. Put Jerome Carter, Clifton Ryan and M. Hagans into the game and see if they should be here or starting next year.

    4. Linehan needs to take responsibility for the play calling. This is his team and his responsibility and he was hired to develop an explosive offense, not to kill it. Be innovative or be fired.

    5. Move Witherspoon to the outside, start Draft in the middle and use Pisa as our sub. Pisa is a fan favorite to some extent but he is NOT developing into a high caliber player and we have Witherspoon out of position because of it.

Its beyond me how you look at this disaster of a season and come up with the conclusion that we need more tight ends. We have plenty of tight ends and plenty of talent there. Its almost at the bottom of the list when it comes to "problems needing fixin'."

i think he meant a draft pick and a TE to be used as trade bait rather than getting another, chiguy!

A good concensus on this one then!

Don't agree about Pisa at all. The guy plays through injuries that would sideline most players.

Can't believe that with how utterly awful the offense have been this season - especially the sieve (sorry, line...) that people are singling out defensive players . Last week it was Chavous, this week it's Pisa.

The answer to our team woas: Marcus Hagans
