Aaron Hernandez doesn't make Patriots' London trip

    This is huge for us

A source tells NFL Network that tight end Aaron Hernandez did not make the trip to London with the Patriots. Hernandez played the last two weeks after missing time with a high ankle sprain. He didn't look 100 percent despite being productive.

With a bye week coming after the game in London, the Patriots apparently decided to play it safe and try to get Hernandez fully ready for the second half of the season. Albert Breer reported earlier Friday that Hernandez, and safeties Patrick Chung and Steve Gregory were not spotted at New England's walk-through in London's Hyde Park.

Rob Gronkowski has played his best football of the season recently and should be a bigger factor than ever on the offense. Wes Welker leads the NFL in yards and is second in receptions, but he will have a difficult matchup this week with Cortland Finnegan likely taking him from the slot.

Bill Belichick can't hide injuries like he does every week. Can't say game time decision this week LOL.

He probably let them go tour the city, knowing that the press would report them missing. That or they're going over on Saturday on the Kraftplane and showing up just in time.

    Dirty cheats...
    I believe!

Hernandez was the guy we would of had most difficulty with. 10x faster than any of our LB's, and bigger and stronger than our DB's. We catch a break, but still got the 6'6 Gronk on our hands.

I agree we did not have a good answer for him. This is a huge break for us, maybe the Pats thought they could rest him this week and over the bye. lets make then pay for that move.

Re: Aaron Hernandez doesn't make Patriots' London trip

There are reports now that he did not make the flight due to his wife being pregnant and about to hve their baby. There is still a chance that Hernandez takes a later flight in time for the game...

    Per Matthew Berry:

Aaron Hernandez did not make the trip to London, but Mike Reiss of ESPNBoston.com points out Hernandez was expected to become a dad very soon so maybe he stayed back for that and could make a later flight. If you have Hernandez, keep fingers crossed and make alternate plans. TE's avail in 75% of more ESPN lgs I'd grab, in order: Olsen, Keller, Myers, Dreesen, Paulsen, D Allen, Fleener, Housler
    This space for rent...

No, this is incorrect. Check rotoworld.

Re: Aaron Hernandez doesn't make Patriots' London trip

    Per rotoworld:

"The Patriots have formally ruled Aaron Hernandez (ankle) out for Week 8.
Rather than creating a faux-injury drama — as is their style — the Pats have admitted Hernandez remained stateside when they made their trip across the pond. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Hernandez's ankle didn't respond to treatment this week, though it's unclear if he's suffered an official setback. Perhaps the Pats didn't like the way he looked playing hurt the past two weeks. As it is, Hernandez now has Weeks 8 and 9 to rest up, and should be ready to roll as a TE1 when New England comes off its bye".
