Aeneas Williams
Naturally, Aeneas Williams retired before this season. However, I did not find anything formal announcing the retirement. I have the Rams site as my home page so I do not think I missed the story there. In doing research on the net, I only found about his car dealerships.
Was anything ever officially announced?

Re: Aeneas Williams
Not that I know of. I think he was waiting to see who if anyone came knocking.

Re: Aeneas Williams
I didn't realize that he was looking to play for another team. I figured that injuries and age had caught up with him.

Re: Aeneas Williams
What a shame for a player of his stature to just slip into obscurity...

Re: Aeneas Williams
this would be a shame if the rams didn't do anything for him on his retirement from the nfl (if he did retire). i was hoping he would resurface to maybe play one more year for the rams or become a defensive backs coach. I did notice that when he went down with injuries that's when our secondary started to go downhill FAST. excellent player and better be headed to the HOF. i remember him as a cardinal who forced steve young into early retirement, just one of the best defensive backs i've ever seen.

Re: Aeneas Williams
In December 2003 against the Browns, Aeneas made 2 interceptions in a 24 second span.
Anyone remember the interception of McNabb in the 2001 NFCCG?[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Re: Aeneas Williams
I think he would have been interested in playing or coaching if Marmie was not the DC. The poor defense has suffered with Marmie at the helm and my thought is that Aeneas did not want any part of it.
I miss Aeneas. I wonder if he is done with football and if he slipped off without much of a goodbye.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Re: Aeneas Williams
Aeneas became a Ram in 2001. Marmie did not get here until 2004. 2004 was the year that Aeneas suddenly had back problems. I wonder if stress caused those back problems.

Re: Aeneas Williams
Hard to post notice of his retirement when he hasn't officially retired.
