Albert Haynesworth on Redskins' expectations: 'Oh, this is the Rams, we're gonna come
Albert Haynesworth offered a blistering assessment of his Washington Redskins after they lost to the St. Louis Rams on Sunday.
Haynesworth said the Redskins underestimated the Rams and expected they could collect an easy win in St. Louis.
Said Haynesworth, via The Washington Post:
"We didn't focus. You know, we kind of expected 'Oh, this is the Rams, we're gonna come in here and just beat 'em.' But they're an NFL team too. They get draft picks just like we do and they prepare just like we did. And we just kind of let them off the hook. We spotted that 14 points, gave them a little bit of confidence, thinking they can play with us."
The Rams won 30-16 for their first win of the season and just second in their last 29 games. It was the first NFL win for No. 1 overall pick Sam Bradford, the Rams' QB.
The Redskins left St. Louis with a 1-2 record that was identical to the Rams'.
MORE HAYNESWORTH: Says contract doesn't make him 'slave' to Redskins
Haynesworth was asked if the Redskins overlooked the Rams. He said:
"I mean, you've got to look at their record and you've got to look at the team, and you think they've got a young quarterback and their line's been giving up a lot of sacks. And you might not think you're letting 'em off the hook or, 'Hey, it's just the Rams,' but it's got to be in your mind. Because you look at their record, you look at the young quarterback, look at how the line played before, giving up nine sacks before this game, and things like that. So it's little keys that probably make you think that way."

I think I can sum it up for the Redskins on this one: "Oops!"
Bradford gets his first win in come from behind fashion and now we host a very beatable Seahawks team. Let's go 2-2!

Warranted or not, Albert Haynesworth is the last guy who should be criticizing teammates for anything. Just shut up, fat boy and play some football.

I call BS!
These are the same Rams that beat them in 2008 (19-17) and only lost by 2pts in 2009 (7-9) - you don't sit through two years of close games and expect a gimme. Quit whining already, the Rams outplayed you ... deal with it!

Um... yeah... before this game, the Rams had given up 5 sacks, not 9.
Maybe Albert has trouble with numbers. Let's see if we can help:
9 - the number of meals you have in a day.
5 - the number of years it took you to finish 10th grade.
9 - the number of plays you take off each quarter.
5 - the number of seconds it takes you to run the 30 yard dash.
9 - the number of Redskin fans who would wear your jersey in public.
5 - your IQ.
Hope that clears things up.

Given the nature of the topic.. I find calling the hagg's... "very beatable".... kind of ironic

Re: Albert Haynesworth on Redskins' expectations: 'Oh, this is the Rams, we're gonna
If the other teams scores 14, it's because "we spotted you." If they would've got the 14, it would be because they "made plays."
"...thinking they can play us."
Um, even without the 14, the score is 16-16. Doesn't that mean we can "play with you?"
You know who "played" with, Fat Albert? Kenneth Darby.

This is only one win, we are team that has lost the last 27 out of 29 games. Let's not get ahead of ourselves, Let's win some more games before we start getting cocky.

And we spotted the Skins some points in the second quarter, and gave them the lead. Just so we could toy with them :D

Well, maybe next time they should prepare better! So that they can lose by 10 points.
GO RAMS!!!

Re: Albert Haynesworth on Redskins' expectations: 'Oh, this is the Rams, we're gonna
It's amazing how much contempt for the Rams there has been in the Washington media since they lost to us. London Fletcher talked about how they "play down to the competition", while Carlos Rogers commented that every year they lose to a team they're supposed to beat. Philip Daniels didn't specifically diss the Rams but made reference to how "this happens year after year".
You'd think a team that won only 4 games last year, barely scraped out a 9-7 victory without scoring a single touchdown against us last year, and lost to us the year before wouldn't be so full of themselves. If there's one thing you can be fairly certain of with this Rams team, it's that they're not going to take any game for granted.
