It all boils down to this.....

    1. Outstanding effort by the Bears front 7. Simply outstanding.

    2. Our line suuuuuuuucks. The left side was flat out terrible today. Hunter/Ojinaka is not the answer on Sammy's blind side.

    3. You gotta catch that ball Gibson.

    4. Dumb penalties (I'm looking at you Mario and Darian).

3 and 4 are the biggest. Against this team we needed to be almost perfect and we weren't. We hung tough as long as we could but we aren't on the same level yet. Even with Saffold back we would have had to play better on offense than we did today.

The Defense came to play, and they did ok limiting the big outside receivers. The run defense could use some help, as usual, but that really just requires big boy Brockers back in the lineup. As I mentioned yesterday, we needed to duct tape and 2x4 him upright.

As it always seems, this falls back on the offense. We were almost 2-0 because we averaged 27 points the first two weeks. This showed what a very good defensive line can do to a bunch of backups. I said I was worried about Hunter vs Peppers, and as expected, Peppers ran wild, as did Paea against Turner and Ojinnaka.

Suffice to say that until we either scheme better(nothing but 3 step drops with slants, screens and quick ins/outs), our pass offense is going to be a mess, and defenses can stack the right side and know we won't get much in the run game. I don't know how we could possibly break this O line curse, but if we actually had a year where we had only one starting lineup, we may just do some damage. Until then, I'm worried about Sam's short and long term health.
    I believe!

I give a lot of credit to da Bears for coming in with a solid gameplan and then executing it very well on both sides of the ball.

Sometimes instead of trying to figure out which Ram player sucked the most, you have to give some credit to the opponent that exploited your weaknesses and won. Rams put forth a decent effort but the Bears were simply the better team today, period.

    And No. 2.

And probably a little bit if No. 2 as well.

    No. 2 also contributed somewhat.

Seriously, someone, (I'd do it but for two reasons: 1) I'm not smart enough, 2) architecture has (thank God ) picked up for me here in sin city. and 3) I'm lazy)

I'd love to see a 5 year history of the Rams O-Line woes. It's incredible!

No you don't. That would lead to serious depression to any who saw it and would probably cause at least four marriages to break up, fifteen armed robberies, and about 80,000 jobs to be lost.

    2. An interesting stat they just showed during the Sunday night game was how quickly Tom Brady was getting the ball out of his hands. The quickest was I think a little over 3 and 1/2 seconds. It made me think about our game and I can't remember many plays that Sam had even that much time to throw.

Our line sucks and we dont have enough playmaking WR's ive been saying this. Our wr's dont win consistently and not nearly often enough and even when they do they never generate big plays. We are to stagnant on offense and rely to much on short routes with mediocre pass catchers. We need playmakers and o line stability simple,we need to either get some new big play wr's to cover up for the offensive line problems, that way we can go short routes but we would be able to get some good YAC possibly a broken tackle taken the house. We lack explosiveness everyone knows just keep the players in front because nobody on our team scares anyone to beat them to the house.

I've said it before and I'll say it again.

    Ojinnaka sucks.

I've never seen a starting NFL defensive lineman get blown backwards as often as Quinn Ojinnaka. It's a regular occurance, and it's no wonder Sammy has a hard time standing in the pocket, because there is no pocket

Yes, you have. His name was Adam Goldberg. Harvey Dahl also does a pretty good Goldberg impersonation himself a little too often for my liking.

Does the name Nick Leckey ring a bell?

Still remember in I think it was '09 we were about to play the Jets and Kris Jenkins, and I seriously thought Leckey was going to get fatally injured.

In all honesty, I have to tip my hat to that Bears defense. I can't over-empasize just how well they played.
