    For All SoCal Rams Fans

I was brousing the forum and a topic caught my eye about the Rams moving back to LA. I must say, that the level of optimism is astoundling to me because I don't think the Rams will ever leave STL in my lifetime. This brought to mind a simple hypothetical that I have been pondering for a while. Would you guys still be Rams fans if LA got a new franchise? Personnally, I don't understand how you can still support a franchise that turns its back on you (i.e. the Arizona Cardinals).

I'm a Rams fan forever, when they left I was not sure until the next game was on and i still was into them. I don't get to go to home games but I have not miss one in years, with direct TV.

This is one of the reasons why L.A. cannot support an NFL franchise,
Rams fans will continue to go for Rams and Raiders fans for Raiders
    and Cowboys and so on...

This is a transient city and people have "their" team.

Only time would tell as newer generation Angelinos will eventually break
their former ties. Translation no cash no team.

Alright Big Daddy, First off I'm a Rams fan first & formost. I don't care what city they are in I will always bleed blue & gold, weather that be in is St. Louis or L.A. or where ever. Now part 2. My question to you & all St Louis football fans is did the Cardinals turn their backs on you or did the fans turn their backs on the Cardinals?

Even if LA got a new team, I'd still be a Rams fan. It's the horns.

Souther California can seem to find a way to build great soccer stadiums and sports complexes like the Home Depot Center, but can't find a way to build a football stadium.

But hey, at least we have David Beckham and the Galaxy. <note sarcasm here>

That's easy. It was the Cardinals and Bill Bidwell. The issue was a new stadium that didn't need to be built, which is funny because they didn't get that stadium until last year. Busch wasn't allways sold out we put butts in the seats all the way up until they announced they were leaving town.

I mean come on man, it Bill Bidwell, the undisputed worst owner in all of pro-sports history. Well him, David Glass, and whoever owns the Phillies.

LA/OC is different than most large cities in the country in one important aspect, we're reluctant to pay for a stadium. Why should we foot the bill for these multi-billionaire owners? Let the NFL foot the bill. LA/OC doesn't need the NFL as much as the NFL needs LA/OC. To not have a franchise in the second largest sports town in the country is stupid. We have so much else going on, sports wise, it's not that big of a deal to most sports fans here to not have an NFL team. In today's techo world, we can catch any game at any time on the dish and then spend the rest of the day doing something else, and we don't have to fight the traffic, drink watered down Bud light, or pay $20 for parking. Remember, Ram home games start at 10am here. We're done by 1 pm and we still have the rest of the day to go to the beach or take the Harley out for a ride, or play a round of golf.

As stated above, California is made up largely of transplants, and they bring their alliances to teams from their former location with them. The reality of it is that people move to California, they don't move to Wisconsin. (please, I mean no disrespect by that statement to those that live in Wisconsin, but just making a point) When you go to a Packers game (for example) the seats are full of people that were born and raised in that area. So, the illusion is that the Packers have such die-hard fans because the stands are full of nothing but Packer fans. If anyone doubts that we can't support our local teams, just look at the attendance figure for our Lakers, Clippers, Dodgers, Angels, Ducks, or Kings. Okay, forget that, don't look at the Kings...

Anyway, IF LA/OC got a NEW NFL team, I'd support them. ...but, I'd still be a Ram fan. Hell, I follow them even though they abandoned us, so why change? But if an existing NFL team moved here, I would not support them unless it was the Chargers. I like the Chargers, they're in the AFC, so I could root for them without affecting my Rams, and most importantly, they get to beat up on the Faiders twice a year. Besides, they'd just be coming home...
    Faithful Rams fan since 1968

I'm a Ram fan for life, but I know a lot of guys who abandoned the Rams when they left. They all say the Rams left them first and they wonder why I'm so loyal.

I am a Ram fan for life because, I know the players had nothing to do with the move and it's the players that make me a fan.

Being a Phillies fan I would put their owners as worst over Bidwell but I have my own reasons.

The team didn't turn their backs on us, the sorry excuse for an owner did. It's an easy situation for me, I will always love the Rams and loath the lounge singer.
