Another Cryptic (DaVinci Code style) Trivia Challenge!

Okay... I've been too easy on you guys...

I think this one is tougher.

Bonus points if you get not only the final answer, but correctly identify all the clues.

My name is honored on a St. Louis street named for the 1st and 7th States in the Union.

I came to rest in the city as well, in a place that share its name with a Missouri Fort.

My greatest work, however, can be seen by anyone who visits the city today.

I donít have any direct connection to the Rams, but I once helped defend a nation by designing several vessels, one of which was named after the first city the Rams faced in a Super Bowl.

    Who am I?

    James Buchanan Eads

    He built the USS Pittsburgh
Designed and Built the Mississippi River Bridge that crosses in St. Louis-Eads Bridge
The cemetery he lies in is called Bellefontaine and calvary cemetery. Named after the military installation-Fort Belle Fontaine.
His name is honored on the St.Louis walk of fame. Which is located on Delmar Boulecard.

    I officially hate Google!

Or... maybe this forum just has a lot of St. Louis history scholars?

Either way... well done, Sir! (and yes, he is on the Walk of Fame on the Delmar Loop - which derives its name from a combination of Delaware and Maryland)

Thanks man. I was stumped for a bit too. Kept trying to find something about delaware and maryland street lol. Eventually i went with the pittsburgh ship and the USS Pittsburgh was the first on the list and was made by him so clicked on him. Without that clue id never came close to getting it.

I figured it was Delmar, but got off on a submarine Pittsburgh tangent. When you posted I was trying to tie Westminster Presbyterian into the clues.

He's in Bellefontaine Cemetery. Calvary is a different (Catholic) cemetery. When in St. Louis and bored, it's actually rather interesting (historically) to tour the cemeteries.

You are correct, i was going to fast to read all the small print saying they were adjacent. I was wondering why it was 2 cemeteries in one lol.
