Re: Another knee surgery for Alexander after practice injury

It figures this happens the week after the trade deadline. On the other hand, did the Rams booby trap the practice field this week for Halloween or something? What's with all the practice injuries this week?

Bruce will be at the game.

Maybe he should just go ahead and suit up!

I was hoping for the best, but this is exactly what I expected. Nick called this one right from the get-go.

No surprise. Sad. But not surprised. We need receivers. This is pathetic.

And the curse of the #1 WR continues...
Thankfully it shouldn't keep him out too long... maybe even back after the bye week if it's a two-week thing.

Re: Another knee surgery for Alexander after practice injury

Hopefully Gilyard's staying up studying the playbook because we need him to step up more than ever. Robinson's in the hot seat but I'll reserve my judgement for him until he gets bitten by the injury bug or if he continues to drop dem damn balls in an obvious manner. Gibson has been decent thus far but he needs to run even more crispier routes. And Amendola is well.. Amendola.

Yes we do need that big, speedy, magical handy #1 WR but the guys we have now will need to step up and CATCH THE BALL as well the coaches to call for some different flavor in the offensive side of the playbook.

Had my ACL torn a couple years back, I definitely feel for the guy.

Sucks how many surgeries he's had + how young he is.

It's certainly disappointing, but I can't say I was surprised when I read the headline. According to Jim Thomas, Danario "suffered Friday's injury running a pass pattern across the middle, appearing to twist the knee while trying to catch a ball thrown behind him." I know injuries can happen in strange ways and at strange times, but that seems like a pretty basic/common situation to result in a 2-4 week injury. I'm wishing the best for him, but if he's getting hurt on practice plays of this nature, it's hard to see him making long-term contributions in the league. At least he was able to have a dazzling game in front of the home crowd a few weeks ago.

The kid gave it a shot, but I'd be more surprised to see the kid suit up again on an NFL playing field.
I agree that Alexander may want to be looking at a different profession. It's really unfortunate but he's flirting with a permanent crippling injury.

How many times can we overcome these WR injuries? DeSpags has done an outstanding job of finding replacments but the well has to be near empty.

    GO RAMS!

Re: Another knee surgery for Alexander after practice injury

Oh man... a meniscus cartilage injury is never a good diagnosis. It doesn't matter how good the surgeon, once you injure joint cartilage it will rarely be the same again. By our early 20's, cartilage gets little to no blood supply so repair can be difficult and regrowth impossible. Unfortunately, once it's gone, it's gone for good. Hence, the reason for hip/knee replacements.

    Danario is in my prayers.

I hope he doesn't try to come back too soon for his future health's sake and so he won't be using a walker by the time he's 40.
