    Any news on Rick Venturi?

Does Haslett want to keep him or get rid of him in his plan as to be HC?
Im sure he'll definatly be gone if Haslett goes, and im hoping if Haslett stays hes gone as well.

I havent heard anything about it so any update would be nice. Thank you.

No update, however, it's been assumed that both coordinators would be changing if Haslett stays, hence the Martz talk for OC. I've not heard anything about whom he might pick to run the defense.

Haslett and Venturi have been together for along time. Ventri was moved up to DC to fill the void that Haslett left by becoming the Interim HC. It wouldn't surprise me if Venturi stays with the team as the DC or back to his previous position at the very least. That's if Haslett gets the HC job.

There was a rumor in one of the posts of Bernie stuff a while back about Dom Capers as defensive coordinator, but that's the only name I've heard suggested. Haslett was supposed to be calling friends around the league to try to line up some commitments if he got the job.

And that is the most damning argument against bringing back Haslett.

I hope that isn't the case. An off-season thinking about a coaching team of Haslett, Martz, and Venturi would all but kill my hope for the "radical" changes Devaney has claimed he wants. I want the coaches and team unified in their goal & how to achieve it. Not distracted by pissing contests or propping up a journeyman crony.

I guess if we are willing to wait for 2-3 years to get the high caliber personnel across the board needed to make these guys' schemes bring anything above mediocre success....

And that's even more farfetched if your opinion of Devaney's judgement plummets like mine will if that trio is the best he can do.

I think every coach on this team needs to go. A clean slate.

Devaney, if you care about this team... fire the offensive coordinator!!!!

I read, I think in a JT chat, that if Haslett was retained he'd get a new DC but would probably keep Venturi as an assistant (most likely LB coach).

I hope Venturi doesn't come back as our defensive coordinator. I don't have any faith in his defensive schemes, and it would be ideal to bring in a new DC with some fresh ideas to get this team's defense back on track.
