A .500 record would at least earn a look. Haslett takes this team to 8-4........the front office would be crazy not to at least look at the idea.

What am I saying? Of course the front office is crazy.

if he can otive the same squad to 50-50 (6-6 in remaining games) then why not.

Getting 6 wins might be hard given what the team has done in the last 20.

Heres hoping he can right the ship

I voted "no way, no how," because I think that Haslett returning would likely mean that the Front Office would not be altered significantly.

I think this team needs a fresh start accross the board.

    NO WAY......NO

I want our boys to go in a new direction starting form the top.... I have never come to terms with haslett in a Rams uniform not after those saints days......I don't trust haslett i think he said alot behind closed doors about Linehan, a little back stabbing i think, you could tell with their body lanaguage that they didn't get on, maybe wrong BUT!!!! we will see

Ooh, I don't know. IF the reports that Zyggy and Haslett don't get along are true, then a serious look at Haslett might indicate the soon-to-be departure of Zygmunt.

P.S. I'm diggin' the new sig pic.

I voted to give him a chance based on this logic..

Only if they plan to: Keep Zygmunt, Shaw doesn't retire and the team doesn't sell. Then it really doesn't matter who the head coach is, the team and organization will continue to flounder as it is built now.

Unless we win the superbowl, no.

We gotta get a better coaching staff all around. And those are only the beginning of our problems.

Hmm, I'm intrigued. So, if Haslett leads the team to win out the schedule (12-4), then goes on to win the NFC Championship, but then loses the Super Bowl.........you'd let him go?

I'll give it a thought to keep him ;-)

Re: Any way you'd make Haslett long term?

If we can go 6-6 in the next few games and those 6 losses aren't blow outs i would give him consideration. It's not an easy job to replace a head coach mid season, but if he can pull it off then why not. But if he were to be the new HC then a more aggressive attacking style defense needs to be played

Re: Any way you'd make Haslett long term?

I don't see how Haslett is much of an improvement over Linehan. Really, look at that defensive unit... geezzz

You're right Hudson, just selecting Haslett for interim HC is another blunder in a long line of blunders by this crazy FO.

I'd be surprised to see the Rams win more than three games under Haslett.

You have to be blind not to realize there is a whole lot more wrong with this team that needs fixing than just Linehan's firing... owner(s) included.

Honestly, the only [non-roster] guy I'd like to see stay in 2009 is the only guy who should've even been considered as the interim HC, Henry Ellard.

Chip really needs to sell this team and go back to producing his movies.

Re: Any way you'd make Haslett long term?

Ooops. I voted for the wrong thing.

If the team goes 6-6 I'd bring him back. Looking at it, there is probably no way we win the next 3. If we put up a good fight, only losing by say a touchdown, then thats a MAJOR plus.

I think if things go positive and we win atleast six of the last 12, then he gets the nod. But we have to beat the Seahawks on Dec. 14.

If I see a spark from the players and things look well, then I would be glad to let him coach next year. Of course, we need to hit it big with the free agency and draft next year.

If you want to have another season like 07 and 08, keep Haslett around.

Re: Any way you'd make Haslett long term?

Uh.... excuse me but whose defense in dead last in the league in EVERY category? No one has a worse defense than us, even if you try to say this last game showed a lot of improvement. DEAD LAST IN ALL CATEGORIES! He would have to take up to a Superbowl at this point before I'd be willing to consider him. Not counting the Katrina season Haslet had only 2 winning seasons in NO. The rest were .500 or less. I would rather someone else come in.
