Anyone else surprised about Eby?

I wonder what the story is with the release of andy eby, projected by many as our backup center (assuming mccollum is the starting guard). I think we have carried this guy for a while and while it would not have stunned me if he was cut at the end of camp, i was surprised by the timing. I think this means that rookie larry turner will make the team, rather than the practice squad.

yeah, my only guess is that turner, king, and tercero have done really well so eby was the odd man out. the rams probably released him this early so that he would have a chance to catch on somewhere else. thats the only thing i can really think of right now.

I'm curious if he's going to be on the practice squad now that the number of players you can carry there has increased.

Nick, i agree completely that i would have thought he would be a great candidate for the practice squad if he was the last lineman cut. Now, he will probably wind up on another team with a chance to make the squad.
