    Anyone getting this feeling?

    .

It's early, I admit, but I'm getting that feeling that the Rams are going out of their way to screw up this search for a Head Coach.

    I have a sick feeling.

It's almost as if an insider is trying to wreck the worth of the franchise in order to buy it or benefit from its low value.

Sounds like a movie where John Candy was a Detective.

Ray Charmin? Jim Haslett asking to stay on to continue the streak he has going?

This is wicked crazy at this point.

I reserve judgement for when most of the teams are out of the playoffs and the coordinators- I'm thinking will be good- become available. If we go through this interview process and Haslett is named the coach, I will definately agree with you.

Ray Charmin has been an Offensive Coordinator all of 2 years - and quit at the end of both of those 1 year stints - before he was demoted or fired.

How does this guy get mentioned as a Head Coach again?

Notice, no other team thinks the guy is a Head Coach prospect.

If Rams interview 7+ candidates and Jim Haslett gets named head coach - then I think "the fix was in" from the beginning.

I have the same feeling, Tony. Todd Bowles? Winston Moss? Glad to see we're setting our sights high...

Nah, I think people are overreacting. It's still very early in the process and the Rams will look for anyone and everyone that has the credentials, especially for the first round of interviews. Keep in mind that some of these guys might be brought in for interviews to get a feel for their potential as possible Offensive, Defensive coordinators or positional coaches next season. It can't hurt to scrounge through every possible candidate, serious consideration given or not.

I have to agree with the disco man here.

No need to freak out. An interview hasnt even taken place yet. We're just finding candidates right now. Once we get down to the choosing process and those names mentioned are on the final ballot, then we should worry.

But until then, I wouldn't freak.

Sorry, couldn't resist. Just reminding everyone that the right coach isn't always out in the open or known to the general public. I trust Devaney, even more so since he's getting some big time players to help him with this search. He cares about the franchise and guys like Faulk do as well. My only concern is that Haslett is already a finalist. I think he should have to go through the same process as everyone else.

Seahawks QBs under Jim Zorn = good
Eagles DBs under John Harbaugh = good
Jaguars D under Mike Smith = good
Cowboys OL/O under Tony Sparano = good

Dolphins DBs under Todd Bowles = not great
Cowboys WRs under Ray Sherman = underachievers
Packers LBs under Winston Moss = decent

obviously this is a completely unscientific way of looking at things but you'd think the front office (Devaney) would want to look at coordinators/position coaches who typically have had some success working with their respective units...

why do you think Steve Spagnuolo, Rex Ryan and Jim Schwartz are everyones favourite candidates? why not look at some positional coaches that have had some success?

    Re: Anyone getting this feeling?

I have had a bad feeling since the first name I heard for the interview lineup was Moss (totally unknown to me). My first though was OHHH NO they interview him because of the rooney rule and they are allready set on Haslett.

I hope I am just being paranoid, but all these years of bad coaching have made me believe the worst.

It is hard for me to sit here in Denmark and know enough about Devaney in regards if he is good at his job or not. At least he brought in some guys to help, and I trust Faulk. So I hope the best for our future HC.

    GO RAMS!

Tony? I have to send you to Red for some Red loven.

Think for a second. Why would Mr. D. be bringing in Marshall and ,(Forgot the other guy's name),to advise if they were not serious about selecting a new coach?

OH! I must add,..............Who the heck will be the assistant coach?

If Marshall Faulk knew that Mr. D already had a plan , he would not be advising him.

If Marshall get's doopied on in this process, there will be nothing but a negative effect in the NFL , and Marshall telling the story.

Ray Sherman wouldn't even be a candidate for an OFF COORD job in this league, much less a Head Coach.

As OFF COORD - one year and Quit in Pittsburgh - and one year and Quit in Minnesota - he quits before he's demoted or fired.

Let's let Ray Charmin make the Playoffs as a WR coach with his current team - which he has FAILED to do.

Winston Moss - his team was a Loser with only 6 wins.

This looks idiotic - unless they are humoring someone on the panel by bringing in their buddies for interviews.
