    Is this it

    St. Louis Rams
    New: Offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels

McDaniels takes over for the departed Pat Shurmur, now the head coach of the Cleveland Browns. He's been handed the keys to an offense that ranked 30th in DVOA last year, but he'll have a core of young talent that could quickly adapt to the scheme McDaniels has employed in the past.

The spread offense that McDaniels implemented with the New England Patriots should be a great fit for Sam Bradford. Bradford played in a similar style of offense during his time at Oklahoma, and while he's not quite Tom Brady, Bradford is an accurate quarterback who can cycle through his reads and make smart throws. The other obvious Patriots clone on the Rams roster is Danny Amendola, who replaced Wes Welker at Texas Tech when the latter graduated.

Outside of Amendola, though, the Rams have a variety of question marks at wide receiver. McDaniels will need to sort through Donnie Avery, Brandon Gibson and Laurent Robinson to find usefulness, and the Rams should probably target a deep threat in free agency or the draft. That leaves Steven Jackson, which is where things could get interesting.

McDaniels has historically favored using a variety of versatile backs, but he's never had a back as talented as Jackson. McDaniels has said that he's comfortable giving Jackson 30 touches a game, but it remains to be seen whether McDaniels will actually follow through on that plan.

Verdict: A challenger could emerge for Brady-to-Welker
